  1. Went to the general orientation and met i think 3 of our classmates. so far, everyone seems cool. I wish they had told us that we didn't have to be there the whole time ahead of time. oh well. the campus was so huge! Suprisingly I didn't feel overwhelmed. It's a very attractive campus. I hope/think we might be just in our little corner. Hope that laurel parking or that area is also student parking.
  2. hmm I wonder if I can get the Hep A at USF since, I wont be in WA to be able to get both here? If its required BEFORE orientation, I'm in a sinking boat.
  3. congrats to everypne who got in or decided to go! I'm excited to meet everyone on the 29/30th orientation! Pita16 - I felt the same way,so I'm looking a bit further out from school. I agree, I wonder if the people who posted the bad reviews were just complainers or if its really that bad. I recently just lost my dog and was hoping to live somewhere I could get a puppy, but I'm not sure if that would be fair to them with our schedule. S22006 - The CPR class that I took was no big deal. I did it during my CNA class. I think they do it by video these days. It was maybe 4 hours, I can't remember. It has to be for BLS from American Heart Ass. Yeah I had to redo the Tdap shot, I had the td, but not the P so had to redo it. My arm was super sore after, had a hard time liftign it up. Better safe than sorry eh? Are you guys thinking about getting the Hep A shot? I'm still mulling it over.
  4. yeah I think it's 15 posts. CNA Sam I was looking at village oaks too. Guess we wont know how it is until we get there and see it. I'm gonna call places this weekend and make appointments. I have never rented an apartment in America so, not sure how the whole rentign process goes. Any one give me a heads up on what to expect? The usual process... also what is the average rent in Tampa? $500-$800? I'm still trying to figure out the cost of living down there in ratio to WA. Rent here is prob about $1000 is average
  5. What kind of recording device did you use... I remember in my college days I used a poc recorder which was so sensitive the sound of writing was waaaay louder than the actual lecturer.
  6. I think the most important thing for doing well in A&P lab is to spend as much time as you can in the open labs hands on! Hands on was key especailly with bones and organs! It just isn't the same as pictures. If you don't have alot of time to allot to being in the lab, then flashcards, altlases, and the anatomy and physiology revealed cdrom were also good investments.
  7. Mel328- I'm not sure if they would let you do that but my advisor has been very helpful to me through my application process! So I recomend that you email him and ask him any of those tough questions you have. He is super informative, quick replying, and if he doesn't know the answer will find out and get you the answer ASAP. As soon as I am allowed to do private messages, I will send you him email because I don't think we are supposed to post email addresses on here.
  8. Lawyer Girl- Do you recommend that I bring my previous text books like for A&P and such or not necessary? Sorry for so many question posts, I'm a HUGE worry wart!
  9. Lawyer Girl- Thanks so much for all the heads up. I wonder how closely our class schedule will resemble yours... We'll find out soon enough I suppose. I heard from other nursing students that you have to study differently for nursing than normal courses, do you find that to be true? If so in what way is it different? Are there rules about piercings, nail polish, or jewelery? I'm so nervous and excited about starting school again and moving cross country. I hope to meet alot of cool people
  10. Will we have to wear scrubs to class everyday?
  11. Thanks for the info! I was not looking forward to suiting up, but was gonna pack some just in case. Looking oh so forward to the sunshine and beaches!!!! Has the BP oil spill affected the Tamapa Bay area?
  12. I can't wait to meet everyone! I'm curious to know what other's first majors were... see if theirs are as far from nursing as mine was
  13. Does it have to be an Ipod touch or can it be like a blackberry phone or iphone with apps?
  14. Does anyone know what we are supposed to wear to the orientations? Like to we have to dress up or anything?
