Hello to all,

I am applying to multiple PMHNP programs with USA being one. Does this program have a part-time track or is it only full time? I cant seem to find any info of this on their website.

You can attend full or part time.

Hi. I am a WHNP and got my BSN and MSN from South Alabama 10 plus years ago. Currently applying to PMHNP program for fall 2020 admission and am pretty nervous about not having a psych background (other than mild anxiety and post partum depression management). Have you all seen where there’s a diverse background in your programs?
Thanks in advance

Hello everyone

I start at USA pretty soon and wanted to know if anyone has the name of the textbooks for patho-pathological basis of advanced nursing in the which I will take in the fall and pharmacology of advanced practice nurses which I will take in the Spring. I would like to begin reading, if possible. If anyone knows the name of the textbooks for the PMHNP courses that would be a great help as well. Thank you so much

The texts recently changed. And they usually use different editions. So, buying one now isn't going to do you much good.

In all honesty, you really don't need to read ahead. If you really want to get a jump start, watch Patho videos on Khan Academy (free) or do a free trial of the NP course in Picmonic for patho & pharm.

The texts are expensive and it would be a waste of money to buy in advance and then have it changed before the semester starts. Then you're stuck with the wrong edition and the study guide page numbers don't match up.

Enjoy your Summer and don't sweat these foundation courses. I'm not saying they're easy (especially not Pharm). But if you devote adequate time during each unit to study, you'll do fine on the exams & assignments. Remember, all the material is spread out over 16 weeks. You have time to learn it.

Now when didactics/clinicals start, that's when it gets really intense. I started Fall 2018 in Dual Role. I'm finishing the FNP portion in a few weeks. This upcoming fall & Spring will be my final semesters. You perform as well as the effort you put into learning the materials they give you. No worries, you'll be fine ?

Thank you so much for the encouraging words. I really appreciate! Are there any study tips you can give me in terms of the program as a whole, for example studying, etc. Maybe things that you wish someone would have told you before starting school.
I am got accepted into the post grad program for PMHNP. I have my masters in nursing education I have to take the pharm and patho class.

Thank you so much
