Hey everyone! I just submitted my primary and secondary application to the Advanced Emergency Nursing NP program at USA for the Spring 2015. Has anyone else applied? I thought this would be a great way to meet potential class mates and to update everyone on application statuses. Ready, set, go!!
They should just go on and accept all of us simply d/t emotional distress and inability to adhere to explicitly stated timeframes on their own website thus delaying the decision-making of those of us considering fall-back avenues of educational advancement. That, or greatly reduce tuition for the initial semester d/t the aforementioned reasons and tacking on the reason of acceptance/denial notices being issued essentially weeks before the semester begins....

I definitely second that!!!
Same email here... I had 223 applicants on my CC list..weird. I wonder if that's tract specific. Still crossing my fingers, not holding my breath. Just worried about timelines for my current job, I don't want to leave them in a lurch. Good luck everyone!
Maybe it is track specific!! Mine only had 167 and I applied for the women's health track. I would expect there not to be as many applicants for the women's health. Which track did you apply to??
does anyone know how possible it is to do this program fulltime and work fulltime? what are yall doing?
I have heard that it is extremely overwhelming doing the program while working full time, but that is what I am going to be doing. I work 36 hour nights, 12 hour shifts 3 days per week. We work every other weekend, our weekend being Saturday night and Sunday night. So I will only be working 2 nights during the week which will leave room for clinical days. It's gonna be tough but I'm going to have to work full time in order to support myself and pay for school.
I am currently intending on at least trying working full-time at first to see how it goes. Where I work, we don't have scheduled OT, so we only work 3 days a week so that's nice...but this is, of course, assuming I receive an acceptance, haha. My scheduling also leaves wiggle room for "extended" time off. I'm off every other weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) work Monday, off Tues-Thurs and I have maxed out PTO time so I intend on using PTO on those Mondays to effectively have a week or so off every month. Will be interesting to see how that works out.
Hi everyone! Good luck in your future studies! I graduated in May with my BSN (new grad, didn't get my ADN first). I know the requirement of needed 2 years experience prior to clinicals, but do yall know if anyone gets accepted with minimal experience? If I apply to start summer 2016 I will have had 2 years when clinicals begin. By the application deadline I will have 5 months experience. My nursing GPA is a 3.9 and my cumulative is a 3.5. I have a previous bachelors degree, which is why my cumulative is lower. Anyone know what my chances would be?
