I hope everyone gets accepted and hopefully you all will hear from USA sooner rather than later. I'm very much interested in applying next year for the BSN-DNP PMHNP program but I'm apprehensive.

For those that have been accepted, how hard was the application process? What's the percentage of students accepted from those that apply? What kind of students are they looking for?

I'm a new BSN grad and I also have a BA in psych. I'll be working on an inpatient psych unit at the Jesse Brown VA hospital. I'm not sure if any of that will be enough to make me a strong candidate. Any information or advice will be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi all, I just recently found this thread. I wanted to input that I also applied for the MSN Dual Role (ER/FNP) program for this fall and have not yet received anything in the mail (either yea or nay). Glad to see I'm not alone in my personal limbo of waiting. I have a co-worker who was recently accepted into their BSN-DNP program (same track) and she said she didn't receive her acceptance later until about 3 months after the application deadline. Kinda makes me wonder why they're so behind on sending out letters? Is it unorganization? High volume of applicants to sift through? Acceptance of high volumes of students into the programs and not wanting to stagger out letters? Educational sadism??? Haha, good luck to everyone who applied.

Hi natira23,

Just saw your post today. Let's see if I can recall the long process of applying to the BSN-DNP program. I applied through NursingCAS (the deadline was either 2/1 or 2/15 if am correct) for the BSN-DNP Psych track. Of course, I would advise you to apply sooner because it took almost a month for all my college transcripts ( I took my prerequisites from different schools) to be evaluated by NursingCAS (that was not fun with calling the schools and NursingCAS back and forth). I received an email in about two weeks from USA that my application had been received from NursingCAS. I then had to apply again to the College of Nursing at USA (there's a different deadline). So then received an email from USA that there were over 500 applications for the program and that I had to patient to receive a decision letter which would be mailed out on 5/1. I received my acceptance letter on 5/5. Went to the website certifiedprofile.com to pay and upload documents e.g immunization records, physical exam and waivers. I received an email that my profile was complete. So far, have to wait for another acceptance letter. Apparently unless you completed the requirements with certifiedprofile.com on or before 6/1, you will not be officially admitted into the program. Hope this helps. I do know that there may be other deadlines for other specialties.

Just got my mail as well. Still nothing....I can't help but have this thought "If a school says they'll send out info during a specific time and doesn't notify you of a delay in mailing off said information (I'm just saying 'cause I haven't received any e-mails notifying me of such) then is this an indicator of how correspondence in the program might be???" but I'm sure this is just the impatience talking....

Hello everyone!! I applied for the fall 2015 WHNP program. I emailed the congrats email on 5/28 asking if the decision letters have been mailed out yet and received this response:

They have not. They are expected to mail out within 2-3 weeks.

Tweety1023, thanks so much for the post! Glad that someone was able to check with them and get an answer! My wife and family and I are still in limbo, just like the rest of you. We've been checking the mail more than ever. The packages in the mailbox that used to excite, now are just another piece of mail that is not an acceptance or denial letter, Haha! Hope all of you are doing well and good luck to everyone! Keep the positive thinking going!
