Hey everyone! I just submitted my primary and secondary application to the Advanced Emergency Nursing NP program at USA for the Spring 2015. Has anyone else applied? I thought this would be a great way to meet potential class mates and to update everyone on application statuses. Ready, set, go!!

Hi,

Congratulations to you both tamtamrn, cjcmomRN as well as anyone else who got accepted. Good luck to all of those who are still waiting. I applied for the Bsn-Dnp Psychiatric track and wanted to know if you don't mind sharing which program you got into? bsn-dnp or msn-dnp? What were your stats: Gpa, years of experience, any other degrees? I have read old threads on USA but I frankly can't wait till May to figure out if I have a chance in getting in. Thanks again!

Thank you so much! I applied to the Advanced Emergency Dual Role program. Applied to the MSN and the BSN-DNP programs. Just like you, I'm still waiting for the DNP letters to be sent out. I received my ADN 16 years ago and my BSN 1 1/2 years ago. I also have an associate's in science, totally separate from my ADN. I have 4 years L&D experience, 8 years in the ER (as unit charge nurse and house supervisor), SICU for 6 short weeks, Urgent Care for a year and home health administration. My cumulative GPA is 3.6. I'm content with being accepted to the MSN program, so if I don't get into the DNP I will be ok with that. I can always apply again when I finish this round. Good luck to you

Thanks tamtamrn for responding! It just occurred to me that I didn't post my stats. I got my ADN 7 years ago, BSN 2 years ago. I also have a bachelor's degree in Economics. My cumulative GPA from NursingCAS was 3.16 though I was surprised because I graduated with a 3.78 GPA. Oh well. I will have 6 years of psy ch experience. Man, wish I had applied to the MSN program as you did especially after getting the email from the college of nursing that 500 applications were received. What can you do but hope for the best I guess! If I do get accepted hope to get connected with you when we take classes. Good luck getting into the dnp program too!!

Thank you Nursing girl2BSN!!! I applied to the post BSN women's health nurse practitioner program. I was an LPN for years, received my ADN in 2009, and my BSN in 2012. Most of my RN experience has been in women's health. So I have almost 6 years experience with time in L&D, postpartum, and gyn in a physician's office. I spent a few months in ortho/ telemetry, but obviously that wasn't my passion lol. My cumulative GPA was 3.77. I didn't apply to the DNP track because I wanted to take it one step at a time. I'm rooting for you!!!

Have anyone heard from USA about the PHMNP for Fall 2015?

Thanks so much! Was amazed to see my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday! Ripped it open right in the car before I got home. Have you heard yet?

I was accepted to the BSN-DNP Advanced Emergency Dual Role program. Sooo excited!

That's great tamtamrn! Does this mean that you would go the BSN-DNP route not the MSN-DNP route or you haven't decided yet? Either way, congratulations again!!
