Is anyone applying to USA for fall 2014.

Specializes in critical care: cardiac cath lab/ER/ICU.
I am also starting the Emergency NP Dual program. I procrastinated on starting my certifiedpro so hopefully I can beat the clock. I found the fb page as well- good idea! The biggest concern I have is finding preceptors, I have only done adult ICU and acute care so finding preceptors in peds and ob/gyn could be challenging. Anyone else not have the required ER experience? I am planning ot work FT - anyone know if there is a part-time track? Yes it will take awhile and I am ok with that :)

I'm not sure if there is a part time track but would love that idea!! Oh well. I have 6 years of ER experience, although this last 1 1/2 years was mostly cardiac cath lab. You'll do fine :cat:

I'm not sure if there is a part time track either. Never hurts to ask. I read somewhere that you have 5 years to complete the program from the time you start.

Did it state in your letter which track you were approved for? I am still a bit unsure of how we are notified of which track and when? Thanks

Finally got a letter stating application received...it also had my jag# and registration info.

How long ago did you mail in your acceptance packet??

I mailed it in on 7/15.

I mailed my packet on July 7th... They should have received it on the 9th and all my stuff was complete. But I haven't heard anything back or received my letter. I think I will send an email today to find out what's going on and make sure they received it.

Has anyone heard anything about the condensed schedule?

No...I email and have left numerous voice mails still no reply. This is getting a little ridiculous given the orientation begins August 10(for the condense sched.)...I would like to know so I can book my flight and find a place to stay. If this is any indication of how the program is run I would rather spend the extra money and go to GWU. If I don't get a response by Friday I will withdraw my application.

Specializes in PICU.

I got my letter last Saturday and I live in WV. The letter had our JAG numbers in them but we can't register until August 1rst regardless. I did e-mail them on the 14th to make sure they got my packet since I mailed it in so early and they did respond in time and tell me. If you call, the lady I spoke to said she has no way of knowing if you sent in your packet and you have to send them an e-mail. It's the congrad address from the website.

I maled mine on 7/5 and it was received, I have not received a letter or any notification that is was received. However, I have been able to log on to the paws and I have seen my financial aid offer and requirements, it says my registration status is clear for 8/01. I have set up my jag mail, and received the email and also responded to the scholarship application. I am so anxious to know which track I am approved for, as everyone else has brought up I will have work and family adjustments and will have to arrange for the travel for the orientation. :cautious:

I have not heard anything about the condensed track either. I would love to hear from anyone who has heard which track they are in and find out how they were notified either way.

Thanks

Just so we are clear - it's the condensed tracks that have to go to Mobile right now, correct?

I believe so, although, since I have no sort of notification I am going on what I hear on here. That is why it would be fabulous to hear from someone who has actually gotten the letter that tells you your approved track or curriculum schedule.

That is what I have hear on here. However, I cannot say for sure since I have no official notification myself. It sure would be great to hear a response from someone who has actually received their letter with their approved track or curriculum schedule.
