Is anyone applying to USA for fall 2014.

Finally got a letter stating application received...it also had my jag# and registration info.

Oh good, hopefully that means I'll see it soon, seem to be a few days behind everything :)

Also, unless you're doing the condensed program, we're all in the same classes for the first year. We can keep using this forum for questions and help from each other.

Yep, I got all my stuff too. I think I'm going to send them an email asking about getting preceptors approved. I have all mine set up, just need to get them approved which I heard can be a lengthy process. I will let you all know what I hear.

Hmm. Hope I get mine today or soon. Someone mentioned they are able to register. Is that true that you guys can register once you get the letter? I thought we couldn't register until August 1st.

As far as the preceptors... Have you heard anything about the condensed schedule availability or are you just anticipating that you will get this? I was browsing around the site yesterday and I found some info about the clinical sites. Not sure if I'm supposed to post links but I will try anyway. But this one had different forms that are required. It does sound like a lengthy process. I think I'm going to start getting the approval on mine too with the hope I will be starting clinicals in the Fall. Here is the link.

Then another link for the agencies that the school already has clinical affiliations with. They're saying if possible, to use one of those agencies because it's a quicker process. I might try to go that route in addition to getting the forms done for the place I really want to do my clinicals. That way in case it doesn't get approved or if it takes too long, I will have a backup. Anyway I don't know if these are the correct forms or updated but at least gives us an idea.

Thanks RN543! It looks like my main preceptor is already with an affliated hospital. I want to do the 100 hrs in a specialty that my friend told me we're allowed to do and it looks like I'll need to submit the application for that.

I'm not necessarily going for condensed but may go for it if I'm offered a spot. I'm lucky that I've worked in case management for a long time and have built relationships with a lot of pediatricians so I have quite a few willing to precept me =)

I was reading some reviews on the one of the teachers we have to take for our classes this Fall, If I wasn't so OCD about my grades I'd care more, but one just made me laugh.

"This professor grades very inconsistently and does not care about content. This is not English literature class but she grades it as if it is"

"The psych patients you meet in clinical have a better grasp of reality than this woman."

Challenge accepted :)

Hahaha Oh fun!! There is always one like that.

I received an email with my JAG number and info for financial aid but haven't received a letter in the mail yet. What does the condensed schedule look like? So tempting to try to push through, I did an Accelerated BSN back in 2006, but of course I wasn't working then.

I am also starting the Emergency NP Dual program. I procrastinated on starting my certifiedpro so hopefully I can beat the clock. I found the fb page as well- good idea! The biggest concern I have is finding preceptors, I have only done adult ICU and acute care so finding preceptors in peds and ob/gyn could be challenging. Anyone else not have the required ER experience? I am planning ot work FT - anyone know if there is a part-time track? Yes it will take awhile and I am ok with that :)

Does anyone know what all we need to mail in? It says that the acceptance packet and "all supporting documentation" need to be mailed. But we uploaded everything to certifiedprofile. They don't need copies of shot records, nsg license, etc. again, do they? Hasanyone called about that?

No, you don't need to mail in the materials you uploaded to certified. Look at the acceptance packet and it will tell you what you need to mail in. There's a few pages that have to be notarized so make sure to check that.

You need to return the last ten pages of the acceptance package...the pages are numbered.

Ok I just wanted to make sure. It just said all supporting documentation. I was thinking that surely we wouldn't have to resubmit those docs we submitted to certifiedprofile. Thanks!
