University of Rochester ABPNN Spring 2020

Hi all,

I did not see another forum for the U of Rochester ABPNN Spring 2020 (January entry) yet, so I figured it would be a good time to make one since we will all be submitting our apps soon! Has anyone submitted yet?

Hi all! I applied and have my interview tomorrow afternoon ? any insight on questions??

Did you receive a call or email about scheduling an interview? I’m like checking my emails hourly hoping for an email from them!

Hi Ontario - I received a call from Nancy to schedule an interview. I'm sure they're still in the process of reviewing and making calls since the deadline was only 10 days ago! Plus we had 4th of July week so don't lose hope!

Honestly, my interview was straight forward. "Tell me about yourself, why nursing, why UofR, etc." Then ended off with asking questions. Best of luck!

Hey people,

I was called yesterday and scheduled a phone interview later that day. Like others have said, it's mostly basic questions and why a nurse type stuff. Felt pretty good for the most part, about 30 minutes total. The kicker though is that I was told decisions may not be until two months prior to start. So... I guess we're going to be in purgatory for a bit. Still a top choice, but I'm planning to shop around until then. Good luck everyone!

Only two months before! That’s crazy! Glad it went well, I had a good feeling after mine too.

Would anyone mind sharing other ABSN programs in NY that have a spring start date. I just want to ensure that I have all the schools in NY on my list that start in January.

of the ones i know off the top of my head:

utica college, nyu, stony brook, pace university, university of rochester, hunter college. I would also utilize: https://www.nursingprocess.org/accelerated-nursing-programs/new-york/

you'll have to look at each school for their start dates

Hi,

did anyone send out their transcripts via mail? I requested mine to be sent out since June 26th and till today the SON is telling me they have not received it. Its extremely annoying.

check with your school to see if they sent it out, i requested mine and U of R received it within a week
