University of Rochester ABPNN Spring 2020

Published

Hi all,

I did not see another forum for the U of Rochester ABPNN Spring 2020 (January entry) yet, so I figured it would be a good time to make one since we will all be submitting our apps soon! Has anyone submitted yet?

Hi everyone, I am also interested in the Spring 2020 cohort. I just want to know if my recommenders dont submit their recommendation by the deadline will my Application get reviewed ?

For those who got interviewed before the deadline what did your prereqs & grades looked like?

good luck on your interviews, you're a step closer!!! do you mind sharing to us that are hoping to get a call back, what they ask during the interview?

Thank you! I just had my interview which went on for a little over half an hour.

It was a standard interview where they wanted me to tell them about myself, Why UofR, how do I challenge myself intellectually, etc. It was a very straightforward interview. The interviewer was extremely kind and she provided a lot of good insight on the program/ school.

I wasn't nervous for the interview at all. The questions were very straightforward and the answers came naturally since I've been thinking about this career change for quite some time now. My interview was with Debra Kloesz, a clinical instructor at the UofR.

What makes me nervous and is giving me anxiety is the waiting to know whether I got into the school or not haha

I'm sure admissions want to see that you got the application itself submitted by the deadline. Recommendation letters do make a big impact on the admission's council's overall decision so I would advise you contact your recommenders and ask them to action on it as soon as possible.

I would also call the university and explain your situation that it is still pending so you are not overlooked!

Thank you ! I just called and the lady said it shouldn’t be a problem. I will send my recommenders a reminder

did you apply to other schools as well? and would you mind sharing what she told you about the program

So far, I've only applied to UofR and George Washington University but I also plan on applying to Stony Brook University and possibly Utica College & NYU (most likely not because it's so damn expensive).

She pretty much just described the program as intense but rewarding since you will make life long friends, learn so much in such a short period of time, etc. Pretty standard commentary but it was just the passion I felt from her that really sold me. UofR was already my top just be speaking with her just reconfirmed it for me.
