University of Rochester ABPNN MAY 2019

Published

Hey everyone!

I recently applied to UOR ABPNN for May of '19. I had my interview on October 9th. I am waiting for a response from admissions but have not heard anything back yet. I read online from their FAQ ~12 weeks you will receive an admission. I have read previous posts and saw people were getting their decision in February and so fourth.

Has anyone else applied to this program and heard anything back yet?

@585Nurse I’m a tech now and let me tell you it’s soul crushing work but it definitely gives you some great exposure

I am pretty nervous as I watch the clock tick. My overall GPA is a 3.00 and I have a Bachelors in Psychology. I am 26 years old and have been blessed to receive a lot of experience in the field. I started off as a Pharmacist Tech for 3 years during undergrad, and once I graduated I became a Case Manager for a Mental Health Facility (1 year), then was a Program manager for people suffering with Dementia (1.5 years), and now I am a Assistant Program Administrator for a Day Habilitation Program for developmentally delayed adults (2 years and counting) and on weekends I provide home visits to kids in the foster care system with disabilities to help improve their level of functioning. (3+ years since its part time.) My interview went really well, but it was back in Oct/Nov. Makes me nervous to hear that out of 387 applicants they are only choosing 65. But good luck to all of you!

Just spoke to Nancy and I was waitlisted. Thankfully I have a plan b! Got accepted into Adelphi University and will still become a nurse! Good luck to everyone!

Received a call about an hour ago, I got accepted!!!

I called Nancy and I didn't get accepted, good luck to everyone!

I sent an email and got a call back. I got accepted. Now whose looking for a male roommate ?.

I called yesterday and was told to call back at 4. I called at 4 (twice) and nobody answered. I called from a different phone and they picked up to tell me decisions aren't made and to wait for a call. This entire situation has really made me feel negatively about the department. Additionally the lack of information given to us as we wait over a month past the 12 week point is jarring. I'm thankful this is the only school I applied to and I live in the area, though now all the deadlines for other schools' early 2020 start dates are past.

Have you tried sending an email? I did that throughout this process and received feedback in a reasonable time without the run around or phone tag.

I’m wondering if they’re making descissions based on out of area versus in area. I also haven’t heard anything and I also live in the area

I’m in the area too and didn’t get accepted. Which is frustrating because I work at highland and already have a step in the door with u of r. I called and she told me that although I was waitlisted and accepted in January (and couldn’t financially make a decision by that night) I wasn’t as competitive with this round of applicants because there are many with tons of years experience. Oh well, guess it wasn’t meant to be. I’ll be going to Duquesne university, not letting this news stand in my way of becoming a nurse!
