University of Rochester ABPNN MAY 2019

Published

Hey everyone!

I recently applied to UOR ABPNN for May of '19. I had my interview on October 9th. I am waiting for a response from admissions but have not heard anything back yet. I read online from their FAQ ~12 weeks you will receive an admission. I have read previous posts and saw people were getting their decision in February and so fourth.

Has anyone else applied to this program and heard anything back yet?

I called and was accepted!!! See y'all in the spring

I called and was not accepted and will be applying for the January cohort. That being said for any of you that were accepted, would you mind sharing your experience? I have 3 years as a CNA and 6 years in dietary both in geriatrics which is the specialty i would like to stay in. But when I asked Nancy how to improve my chances for January she said to get clinical experience meaning working in a hospital. Also congrats to everyone that was accepted I’m so pumped for you all! And please any feedback you’d be willing to give would be greatly appreciated.

I found out I was waitlisted today...but I also found out today I was accepted into Georgetown CNL program

My experience is weird. Public health tech for 3.5 years with the military. It includes providing audiograms, patient interviews, patient education, patient parameters, entomology, medical intelligence and surveillance, food safety, occupational safety, and very basic epidemiology.

I also worked in sterile processing and as a floor supervisor to hospital support staff(dietary techs, transporters, supply, housekeeping, floor techs)

My experience:

Volunteered for a bit in L&D

Interned at a urology practice for 1 year

Scribed in the ED for a year

Do a lot of community service with my church

Anyone recieved the admissions package yet?

We should see it next week

Anyone confirmed their decision to go to Rochester? If so, have you found housing?

I got waitlisted. Does anyone know what are the chances of actually getting an acceptance from the waitlist? U of R is my top choice! Also Nancy had said that there will be letters sent out to those who got waitlisted. No letters yet, anyone else in similar boat?

Idk but the deadline to declare is March 28th with $1000 seat deposit. I’m sure that’s going to be hard for a few people.
