Keep in mind that with any BSN program - there is a limit in how much federal financial aid [federal loan money] that can be given. This is extremely important when it comes to loan forgiveness programs - as most programs will only forgive federal loans. This in mind...if you get into the washington squared program then I would suggest going to GW [as it will be a cheaper program]. Also keep in mind since Maryland is a state funded school - there are more opportunities for scholarships

@Ryan - I like it so far - its tough...but I like it a lot. One thing that is unique about maryland is that we take patho and pharm as one class where many programs you take it as 2 separate classes. Learning both at the same time can be challenging as it can be a lot of work...but it does make learning medications [and how they work] easier since you are learning systems [i.e. you learn blood medications (anticoagulants) as you learn about blood]. There are no classes on Monday's in your first semester. Mondays is where you have your learning labs [guided study groups/group tutoring] for all your classes...which is SUPER helpful. You can always count on having what we call a "super session" where a second year student will essentially have a 1-2 hour study session prior to an exam.

@Ryan I was accepted to Johns Hopkins also. What made me pick Maryland over Johns Hopkins was simple: Maryland is significantly less expensive and the Maryland program offers the ability to get the CNL certification. Those 2 combined made the decision easy for me.

I interviewed on the 25th and heard back on the 29th

@poe20 I'm still waiting on financial aid - but I also got into Maryland. If Gtown offers something significant, then I'll go there...but if not...I'll see you at the University of Maryland
