Hi All,

I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?

I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I called FA office yesterday and they said they have mailed you a whole bunch of award letter on Tuesday 12/16, it should arrived in your mail box already. I got mine on Saturday 12/20.

Make sure you dont wait til the last minute to find out about FA status. It usually takes very long to get the loan, especially the Alternative Loan offers by other banks such as Wells Fargo, B of A, etc. It takes these banks weeks from the initiation of the loan application to verifying your info with OU FA office.

Does anyone know what will we be doing at the Orientation on the 7th and 8th besides receiving our books and the things we ordered from the Open House? Thanks!

I know they want to spend some time talking about scheduling and time management and we are supposed to get our clinical assignments :yeah:, but I don't know what else.

Thanks everyone for the info. I talked to Financial Aid yesterday and they faxed me my award letter. What a relief! Does anyone know what steps to take next for our Federal loan and our alternate loan? Do we just go to a bank? I'm clueless! I wish there was more directions!

I applied for the wells fargo medcap loan about a month before the acceptance letters went out. The whole process was VERY easy and quick. They sent me a promissary note within a couple days of application, and the only paperwork they needed from me was a copy of my drivers license. highly, highly, highly recommended. after you get the promissary note, you sign it and fax it back to both them and then to the FA office so they can do stuff on their end. the whole thing took less then a week from start to finish..... good luck everyone!! see you at orientation. Hey - did anyone else get that letter in the mail today asking for an enrollment deposit?

Unfortunately, I just hit a huge roadbloack in terms of vaccinations so I have to put everything else on hold until I figure out my options. Maybe some of you have suggestions for me. I just got my titers back today and got some bad news. I am immune to everything except for Measles. Normally, this would not big a big deal and I could just get the MMR shot, but I am 15 weeks pregnant and I can't do it. I'm freaking out today because at the very least this would keep me out of clinicals. I don't even know if I can register for classes. I'm hoping to get a waiver, but who knows.

I am really bummed out right now!

I am sorry to hear about your MMR problem - but congratulations!!! Maybe its a good thing, take some time off, have your baby and then start school.....

That is weird though that you don't have immunity for just one of the three, i would do the test over, just to be sure! Good luck, hope they are willing to work with you one way or the other. Happy Holidays!

A note on the loans...for my alternative loan, I used Wells Fargo also and I was able to apply and sign online in a bout two days. Then, they get it certified by the OU financial aid office and it gets processed for January disbursement. You can do it all on a few days. BG

Does anyone know how long our spring semester is? On the financial aid award letter it doesn't say. When filling out loan applications online (Wells Fargo MEDCap) do you just ask for the "total budget" minus the Stafford Loans already awarded to you? I've never taken out a loan before and am clueless!!

I'd call and ask. Did you get an email about the orientation that was marked as mandatory that you reply to it and state whether you were bringing a guest or not? Maybe there is a chance you will be notified of acceptance before orientation...? I know letters went out and you had to return them within 15 days with a $100 deposit to hold your spot if you were accepted otherwise your spot went to an alternate. Those letters were dated Dec 18. It's gonna be close.. I feel for you guys!

I will call next week. Thank you! The only email I got was about the mandatory open house and that I was an alternate. Nothing on orientation though.

The spring semester is 16 weeks, so I believe it will end May 15th.
