University of Oklahoma-Accelerated BSN Program

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?

I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have applied for the January 2009 cohort too and am getting very eager to hear back from them! Any other January applicants tracking this thread?

I am anxiously waiting as well. I applied last cohort and was an alternate! It took about a month and a halg to hear from the school! If anyone has heard any info at all, please share!

Sorry you didn't make it last time! I hope we can both start in January!! They told me we should hear from them by mid-November...

Hey Everyone-

I was also an alternate last time around and am anxiously waiting for the decision. I e-mailed to find out if there were any updates and was told that the committee is meeting next week and we should hopefully be notified the following week! Good luck everyone!

Yeah!! Thanks Kerri~ Did you go to your regular GP for your imunizations, or somewhere else? I really want to get these out of the way! I went to this place that takes walk-ins yesterday in Escondido and they said I was too late. I registered for my CPR class, same place that you went, so that will be done before December. I'm acting like I have already been accepted. Anyways, I'm excited to find out and start learning. Did she say how many applicants there were?

There are around 140 again for about 75 spots, so we'll have to keep our fingers crossed! I went to my GP for the varicella. I had gotten one when I was younger, so I only needed one more. It ended up being about $95, because my insurance wouldn't cover an "unnecessary" vaccination. For my TB tests and my TD booster I went to public health in PB. I walked right in and $18 later I was done. Other than those, I didn't need any of the others updated at this point.

I don't want to wait another two weeks to find out!

wow I cant believe there are so many applicants....Ihave a question what happens to the ones rejected? do they have to apply again?

any of the girls who are in the program around ???? we need some updates :)

anyway I am applying for 2010 but I want to be informed

Hi Laura...It's Nicole. How have you been? I'm sure you're keeping busy. I applied for January and was chosen as an alternate. I did have to reapply again for the January start date. My hope is that they look as the status of your previous app as a motivator, but who knows. I think we will find out in the next couple of weeks!

Are you taking any prereq's? CCC online is still my #1 reccommendation for science courses. Hope all is well ~ Nicole

what is the benefit to start in January...I amjust planning so I can apply next year....also which college didyou use for your science classes? I was considering Rio...the labs are online as well

For those of you who have gone to your GP and/or gotten immunizations. How do you know which ones you need? Is there a list from OU?
