University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) Traditional BSN Spring 2025

So I saw that UNTHSC in Fort Worth is starting a traditional BSN program. This differs from their MSN program and the RN-BSN program. It is what I am assuming brand new, meaning this may be the first or second class. I wanted to know if anyone else was applying and what their stats were.

Did any of you receive notification regarding early decision?

On the NursingCAS application, it said applicants who submitted by Dec 31 will hear a decision by January 15th.

The first cohort didn't get an early decision, we were all told at once. I'm a week into the program now though, happy to answer any questions! 🙂

I just go accepted for Fall 2025! I'd love to DM you for questions, but it says I am allowed 0 messages per day so I am not sure. 

How is the program so far? Are you guys the first cohort?

Congrats! We are in week 2 of the semester and it has been WONDERFUL so far. Yes, we are the first cohort!

Wow such a small cohort! I see that their BSN program is now accredited! Could you share some insight on what the curriculum is like? Does clinical start when you start or during a later semester? Also, is it 20 months including summers or do we get summers off?

Yeah! One thing I really like about the program is that pathophysiology and pharmacology are integrated into one course that spans 3 semesters, so you really get enough time to learn and apply the concepts. Clinical does start in the first semester, but they ease you into it, you're not going to be going right away. Other than that it's pretty straightforward. 4 classes, 4 days a week, clinical on Fridays. It's 20 months including summers! My cohort graduates in August 2026, and I'm pretty sure yours will graduate in May 2027. I also know for a fact that our cohorts will receive our white coats together, so we'll be meeting in person! 🙂
