Hi everyone!!! I am new to allnurses.com - I was wondering if anyone has applied for the Fall 2009 accelerated program? I have not been able to attend an information session due to scheduling conflicts. Does anyone know how many people apply to the program or know any "insider" info? I know that 50 people get in every year - I just submited my application last week for the early response deadline - good luck to all!!
I can't say I'm too mad at U of M - every university goes at its own pace, and I've heard good and bad things about a whole slew of different programs. I was accepted into Univ of Maryland's program 5 days before their deposit deadline, and only 7 weeks before the actual program started. That was a bit last minute; however, Michigan doesn't start for another 5 months. On the flip side, I have an interview with Wayne State this Thursday, and their application deadline isn't until June 1st...go figure that out.yeah, the wait is agonizing, but I cant say that Im mad at U of M either. I'll continue to wait patiently for a response, because this is important to me. At the end of the day, I am in need and want of U of M, they can do without me as they have hundreds of applicants, and so Im fine with them calling the shots because they don't "owe me" anything. Im sorry that some of you are giving up, but hopefully that will mean more available spots for those of us that truly want this. Good luck to all in your future endeavors, and hopefully we'll all get a response from U of M by the end of the week :)

It sounds like you guys really get it. You'll do fine in this program or any other. Fingers crossed! I hope you hear this week!
Congratulations on being accepted to U of D Mercy. I completely agree with you about the admissions process of UM. My application was marked complete in Nov and the only communications I have heard were initiated by ME! Anyone in the program will comment, "They have hundreds of apps to review." PLEASE keep your comments to yourself. Last year there were 355 apps, the deadline for admissions was Feb 1st. That was 3.5 months ago! If they reviewed 10 apps a day they would have been finished beginning of March. At this rate, they are reviewing 3 apps a day. However, we haven't heard anything yet sooo their rate is slower than that.I applied to Oakland University's program in the middle of April. I have already received 2 mailings from them and they have a deadline for acceptance notices of Aug 15th. The program starts MAY 2012! If I get accepted to OU, someone can gladly take my spot if accepted to UM. Plus, their program is $10,000 cheaper than UM!
I sent you a PM. Hope it helps.
I have a feeling the switch from the old application process to the new Common Application process this year may have something to do with the additional delays.
Usually when new procedures or processes are implemented, there are kinks and glitches along the way.
I'm pretty anxious too, but I can't say I harbor any ill will. After all, they can afford to be selective and for good reason.
I was told something different. I emailed the department today and was told they aren't confirming any decision date for anyone. If you haven't heard otherwise, you're still being considered. But I was specifically told, not to count on any specific date, regardless of orientation dates. Darn!
Yaaaayyyyyyy!!! im sooo happy... but before I get too excited and then get disappointed, does your wolverine access say "You have accepted admission to the university"???? normally when your accepted it says you have been OFFERED admission, and then you are given the choice to accept or decline. Regardless I would accept addmission, I just dont want to get my hopes up in case there was a typo...
is that the message you all got? Im sooo excited right now! aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :)

good attitude!! There are some rough spots in the program, and hopefully our class's comments to the school will help you guys. But in the end, it's a great school with a fantastic reputation, and I'm thrilled to be going here. You need to be flexible all through the program
