University of Miami FNP Spring 2018

Published

Hi everyone, I've been looking around to see if anyone has started a thread for UM's Spring 2018 FNP program so I decided to start one myself so that we can all be here for each other. Applications opened up Apr 1st and I have started on my personal statement but my GPA is a little low and I'm afraid i won't get accepted; I have met the 3.0 requirement but I am still a little unsure. Also, I graduated from my BSN program end of last year, recently passed my NCLEX and got a job in the ER. Although, experience is not a requirement does that lower my chances?Anyone knows how the application process works for UM or have any advice, tips that would be useful? Can't wait to hear from you all. :-)

I called UM and they told that they sent letters through the US mail last week. What does that mean that the rejection letters are sent by mail only?

i interviewed on the 13th , i thought it went very well.

update...i just checked my mail and i received a rejection letter

I got the first acceptance letter pdf format via email, and I received another acceptance letter today by mail.

Some people I know had to wait for about 3 months to receive their acceptance letters. Don't be discouraged if you haven't received any denial letter or acceptance email as they may still be reviewing more applications before sending more letters out.

Quick question, I applied to other schools as well. For one of the schools, the start date is the last week of October. Is it a possibility that I can hear from UM by the end of August? I was told that they would start reviewing my application this week. How long does it take for the committee to review an application?

Hi ERNurse94,

I would call UM and ask. Maybe they will be able to inform you. Good luck!

Thank you dreamrn2017,

Received an email that my file is currently being worked on! Fingers crossed.

Hi ERNurse94,

I wish you good luck!

I've been accepted!!! For those who are waiting, keep checking!

Congratulations!! When sent an invitation for an interview, is it by mail, email or you'd have to check on Canes website?

ERNurse94,

Thank you! I received an invitation for interview about 2 weeks ago. I received an email regarding acceptance with a letter attached.

Hi jcpr1988,

Congratulations on your acceptance! We will be classmates and I can't wait to meet you all!
