Hi everyone, I've been looking around to see if anyone has started a thread for UM's Spring 2018 FNP program so I decided to start one myself so that we can all be here for each other. Applications opened up Apr 1st and I have started on my personal statement but my GPA is a little low and I'm afraid i won't get accepted; I have met the 3.0 requirement but I am still a little unsure. Also, I graduated from my BSN program end of last year, recently passed my NCLEX and got a job in the ER. Although, experience is not a requirement does that lower my chances?Anyone knows how the application process works for UM or have any advice, tips that would be useful? Can't wait to hear from you all. :-)

Check out the website. I believe it says you apply through NursingCas which I myself am having problems with. It's not letting me add the program on or print transcript request forms í ½í¸‘í ½í¸‘
I haven't had any issues with NursingCas when adding the program, you might want to call them and ask what's going on.

Hi everyone,
Glad to see an active thread. I'll be submitting my application this week. My overall GPA is a 3.2 - a bit low to be competitive. I heard from someone that they usually interview those with 3.3 and higher, but I'll remain hopeful. I'm not sure if that was in reference to nursing GPA or overall GPA. Who is to say that is correct info anyways?
I have about 2 years of experience in pediatric med surg, have been very involved in the hospital, and have a decent amount of volunteer hours. I hope this increases my chances!
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who wants to share their GPA/experience/etc. Of course, also update us on any contact from the school.
Thanks!
I am at a 3.1 and I am scared that I won't get in.
Maybe an amazing personal statement will make a
difference?

Thread moved to Student NP forum.
I have a 3.7. I am going for the Acute Care though. I wonder when do they start interviews?
Maybe after the deadline?
I'm thinking the same thing. I definitely think that a strong academic background is important, but I think they would consider other relevant achievements as well. Have you submitted your application yet?

Hello!!! I'm looking forward to apply to UM for the fall semester (part-time) FNP PROGRAM
I've 3.85 Gpa and 2 years exp as Correctional Nurse and Community health, though I don't have any volunteer hours which scares me not to been accepted for that reason..so my question is what are the datelines? For 2018 part time cohort?
. ANYWAYS HERE WE ALL ARE!!! We are going to do great!!!!
