University of Miami FNP Spring 2018

Hi everyone, I've been looking around to see if anyone has started a thread for UM's Spring 2018 FNP program so I decided to start one myself so that we can all be here for each other. Applications opened up Apr 1st and I have started on my personal statement but my GPA is a little low and I'm afraid i won't get accepted; I have met the 3.0 requirement but I am still a little unsure. Also, I graduated from my BSN program end of last year, recently passed my NCLEX and got a job in the ER. Although, experience is not a requirement does that lower my chances?Anyone knows how the application process works for UM or have any advice, tips that would be useful? Can't wait to hear from you all. :-)

Do you mine telling me what the first letter of your last name is. Maybe it's going in alphabetic order

My last name starts with an S. When did they interview you? I received the email this morning at 9 am.

I interviewed last week on Monday, and my first name starts w C. Maybe you will your letter later on. I got mine in the morning but I'm sure they are still working on them. Stay positive

Yes I am sure they are sending more letters today. Check your spams to make sure. My interview was 2 days ago.

How long do they give you to pay for the seat?

Congratulations to those that got in! It seems like the people who were accepted were interviewed last week so stay hopeful and calm if you are still waiting. There's still plenty of time!

I also was accepted this morning. I received the email just after 10 AM. I interviewed Monday July 17. They want the deposit 2 weeks from the date of the email. I'm starting a FB group called UM FNP Part Time c/o 2019 so we can support each other. You can search for it or PM me for an invite. Looking forward to hearing more good news and meeting new people!

Yes it is 2 weeks and also we have to fax or email the admission certificate during that time frame.
