Hi everyone, I've been looking around to see if anyone has started a thread for UM's Spring 2018 FNP program so I decided to start one myself so that we can all be here for each other. Applications opened up Apr 1st and I have started on my personal statement but my GPA is a little low and I'm afraid i won't get accepted; I have met the 3.0 requirement but I am still a little unsure. Also, I graduated from my BSN program end of last year, recently passed my NCLEX and got a job in the ER. Although, experience is not a requirement does that lower my chances?Anyone knows how the application process works for UM or have any advice, tips that would be useful? Can't wait to hear from you all. :-)
Hi everyone!
I submitted my application at the end of June. However, I am waiting on my last letter of recommendation to be submitted. So, they (at UM's office) informed me that they wouldn't be able to finalize my application until its submitted. I'm hoping to have the last recommendation in by the end of the week, fingers crossed! Anyway, good luck to everyone!
Hi JCPR1988,
You should contact the person who is writing the letter informing him/her that your application will not be verified by NursinCas and reviewed by UM until all documents are submitted. Remember the deadline is around the corner, and NursingCas may take a while to verify everything. Good luck!
Hi everyone,
I had my interview today, and I have no clues if it went well. The people interviewing me seemed very serious asking numerous questions that were more general. Few clinical questions were asked, and I was told that I will be hearing from them in about 4 weeks. I am not sure what to expect as the answers to the questions may vary depending on perception and beliefs. I will keep my fingers crossed, and I wish you all good luck.
DreamRN2017,
Congrats on making it through the interview! I'm sure you did well & just feel overwhelmed with the anticipated outcome. I hope to hear from them and have the opportunity to interview as well. Were the general questions similar to others that posted (i.e. 5 year plan, role of NP, etc.)? Anyway, good luck and I'm sure you'll hear from them with positive news!
Hi cdiaz4139. I think it just means you're application is complete (everything submitted) because once NursingCas received my final document, UM emailed me that my application was officially complete and that I should hear from them within the next few weeks. Have you had your interview yet?
