University of Miami FNP Spring 2018

Published

Hi everyone, I've been looking around to see if anyone has started a thread for UM's Spring 2018 FNP program so I decided to start one myself so that we can all be here for each other. Applications opened up Apr 1st and I have started on my personal statement but my GPA is a little low and I'm afraid i won't get accepted; I have met the 3.0 requirement but I am still a little unsure. Also, I graduated from my BSN program end of last year, recently passed my NCLEX and got a job in the ER. Although, experience is not a requirement does that lower my chances?Anyone knows how the application process works for UM or have any advice, tips that would be useful? Can't wait to hear from you all. :-)

Hi everyone, I submitted my application today, I know that the deadline is Aug 1st but I just got in the last recommendation letter I was waiting for. Do you guys think that will affect my chances? Also, August will make it 4 months of RN experience for me.

Today is the only day they send acceptance emails? I interviewed, I haven't heard anything :/

Does that mean I'm out of luck?

No, They are still reviewing applications.

You can always call the school and ask to know for certain, but I'm sure there will be more acceptance emails coming. At the very least, there will be more spots available for those that decline their acceptance. Don't give up hope!

Hi everyone,

For those who are still waiting for an acceptance letter, I hope you get the email this week coming. I will say to not feel discouraged because I know few people who got their acceptance letter few days prior orientation. Keep checking with Daphne for updates. Good luck! Also, the deposit and clinical clearance package is about 1,800.00 $. Keep in mind to have the money available as they want it within a 2 week time frame.

Thanks for the encouraging words guys and congrats to everyone accepted!

To CarissaHalo and dreamrn2017 thank you for the encouraging words! Means a lot to me :-)

so has anyone else heard anything, when i emailed them they said they sent out letter that tbey are sometimes delayed, i asked her about email and she did not respond

Congrats on those who've been accepted!!! I have my interview next week and am so nervous! If anyone has any tips, that would be greatly appreciated! Again, congrats on your acceptances!

Hi jcpr1988,

I would advise you to be yourself and be honest when sharing your goals and aspirations with them. Congratulations ad good luck!

Hi Traumaqueen87,

Have you had your interview already? If not, you should check your email daily. They are still interviewing candidates and more letters will come out in few weeks after this round of interview. Good luck!
