Hi everyone, I've been looking around to see if anyone has started a thread for UM's Spring 2018 FNP program so I decided to start one myself so that we can all be here for each other. Applications opened up Apr 1st and I have started on my personal statement but my GPA is a little low and I'm afraid i won't get accepted; I have met the 3.0 requirement but I am still a little unsure. Also, I graduated from my BSN program end of last year, recently passed my NCLEX and got a job in the ER. Although, experience is not a requirement does that lower my chances?Anyone knows how the application process works for UM or have any advice, tips that would be useful? Can't wait to hear from you all. :-)

Hi, I know this is an old post but I was just wondering whether any of you were recent BSN graduates when you applied to UM. I'm currently in an Accelerated BSN program and would love to start the FNP at UM pretty much as soon as I can after getting the RN (I do plan to work part-time while in the program), but I'm not sure how they look at recent graduates. My GPA is fine (3.7-3.8), I have some volunteer hours, have been involved in clinical research and worked as an MA for a year prior to the BSN. Thank you!
