Hi everyone, I've been looking around to see if anyone has started a thread for UM's Spring 2018 FNP program so I decided to start one myself so that we can all be here for each other. Applications opened up Apr 1st and I have started on my personal statement but my GPA is a little low and I'm afraid i won't get accepted; I have met the 3.0 requirement but I am still a little unsure. Also, I graduated from my BSN program end of last year, recently passed my NCLEX and got a job in the ER. Although, experience is not a requirement does that lower my chances?Anyone knows how the application process works for UM or have any advice, tips that would be useful? Can't wait to hear from you all. :-)
Have been eyeing this thread since Aug. Just found out I got accepted 2 weeks ago! The interview was not that bad. Mine lasted about 6-7 mins; thought I did horrible. GPA wise I was at a 3.0 so do not let a low GPA stop you! . They asked questions- why UM, NP role, 5 year plan, patho question within your clinical area, and if i had any questions. Im so excited! Will be in the FNP spring. Just finished the background/drug/ and compliance list. :) To everyone else good luck!
Congrats! The class has to be finished by mid-December, I believe. There is enough time, but you will have to get started ASAP. There's a lot of little quizzes and assignments.
Are you sure you are searching for the group with the same name I posted? You have to request to join and I will approve you.
