Thread for those applying to UM FNP Fall 2017

I applied for family NP. You?

Hey guys!

I had a similar experience of interview questions. I think they know that everyone is going to be nervous. (Especially if you do a skype interview, that's just awkward in itself) I think the whole interview requirement is probably more just so they know you can talk to other people, understand what you're really applying for, and the clinical question is just to stress you out a little and see how you can work under stress. We all probably did better than we think! Keep your heads up and we'll be in touch as we find out if we are going to be classmates! I applied for the FNP and am out of state.

Hopefully we hear back soon í ½í¸Š

Did anyone ask when we should expect to hear answers? Some other threads from earlier years said 2-4 weeks.

I hope soon!

They told me 4 weeks

Yea my interview was about 18 minutes long over Skype. I had a couple of regular questions and clinical questions. why U Miami, why FNP, 5 year plan etc. Hopefully we hear back soon.

They told me it would be around 4 weeks also. When I looked back to older threads, it looks like they notify you by e-mail. Fingers crossed everyone! :)

Can anyone give updates on questions asked and tips on the interviews? Got an invitation for usf so any info would be appreciated í ½í¹‚

It seems positive admission decisions are sent through e-mail and regular mail. Wishing everyone the best!

with both FAU and UM interviews they wanted to know why that school, why FNP, asked a little about what I do as an RN, FAU wanted to know also why me compared to others, FAU did not ask any clinical questions but UM did (very little you can do to prepare). Things of that sort. Make sure to know what you want and why you want it.

Has anyone heard back since interviews? It's been 3 weeks for me and now schools are having Spring Break so I am not sure if next week anyone will even be on campus to update us? Has anyone called? I tried but could not get a hold of the woman in charge today.

thanks for the info! Much appreciated :)

Hi,

I'm doing the BSN now. I will be finishing by December. Im wondering what my chances are if I apply for the Spring 2018. I called and they said that I can definitely apply but I don't know if they will take me.

Is someone here in the same situation?
