  1. As a nurse? It's a little different than an FNP but I definitely still recommend waiting. March is right around the corner. Nurses are in such high demand that you'll be fine after you delivered and finished maternity leave. I'm not sure how long you plan on being on maternity leave but they may not hire you because you'll be leaving soon before they start. No need to rush honestly. I'm currently working as an FNP in volunteer clinic until after I deliver the baby and already have a job lined up after I'm done with the baby as an FNP ? so I'm blessed but the person I have the job with wants me to wait until after the baby because he wants to teach me everything and not have to risk forgetting everything once I give birth which is understandable. Just wait being a new nurse for me was overwhelming because you're learning alot skill wise and documenting wise.
  2. Graduated in May in Florida and it took forever to land an interview as a new grad. Finally get an interview and job at primary care. Then I disclose my pregnancy 2 months into the job and then they let me go 2 weeks later. Just did an interview today and disclosed I was pregnant. The tempo of the interview changed and I'm sure I won't get the job. I'm due at the end of April and I'm worried that this time lapse will affect my job hunt when I retry my search after pregnancy. Any advice? I'm guessing my honesty has backfired. Words of encouragement I guess.
  3. Currently in the same position. I have an interview in a week and don't know if I should disclose this information at the interview. I'm worried that the time I'm not practicing as FNP will hurt me when I do reapply after the baby
  4. Honestly everyone is different! I truly really love it. I love South of Sarasota so my clinical placements have been fine. I haven't had trouble with placement. Please keep in mind especially if you're in Tampa or Orlando that there's so many schools competing with placement. Some private schools are making student pay preceptors so it's even tougher when you're having to compete. But honestly I feel great they truly prepare you for clinical. I feel confident when I'm done with school that I'll have no trouble with finding a job. I went to private school so I know employers can have a stigma against certain students from private institute. But USF school pricing can't really be beaten. If you know any preceptors that you want to go with you notify the clinical organization and for the most part if you contact early before your clinical start they can accommodate you. No one technically has to find their own preceptors but if you don't want to drive an hour then I suggest finding your own. I love that patients when they hear I'm from USF they seem to have more respect for me or relief of anxiety. So take that inconsideration.
  5. I love it!! It's alot of working I'm doing full-time so sorry if I didn't respond sooner but definitely recommend the school very well structured and taught the instructors are amazing. I started clinicals and have people notice you and say "wow you go to usf" very happy. I'm still working but not full-time more per diem where I can make my own schedule. Next semester will be tough but nothing that I don't think if I set my mind too I can't accomplish
  6. When it's the weekend and the patient's family member demands at the nurses station to speak to the manager. Because the doctor still hasn't seen their family member
  7. When someone enters the TB room without closing the door 😂😂
  8. A different skin color than what they were before (code blue)
  9. I won't be judgemental! I'm sure your feelings come from being overworked. I felt this way when I transitioned from CNA to RN. I'm hoping that you've found answers! I'm personally may go back to get my acute care! But I do agree definitely learn because I also heard that same story that you can be held to the same liability as an RN! Maybe doing education or management 😁
  10. I just approved everyone for some reason it didn't notify me! Sorry
