Thanks
WOW! Thank you VERY MUCH! I am going to need all the help I can get. I was just surprised to see the prices on that side of town. I would at least need 2/1 but I am not sure how much that would be. If you don't mind me asking, how much are you paying per month?

I pay 850 for a one bedroom in North Miami. Its on the water, we have a dock and a pool.

That is great, I hope I something soon
The brickell area looks nice and affordable! Anyone live around there that can tell me more about the area? Places to avoid etc

Brickell is nice, but I don't know about affordable. But if you can afford it, its a great place to live. Its the financial district of miami. There is Mary Brickell Village where there are shops, restaurants and bars. And it would be a great commute to UM, you can take the metro!

Thanks I will look into it but I think it's out of my price range :(
For me that I live relatively in center of Miami, I prefer commute because I just couldnt afford those places and I am not going to able to work when start the classes. I heard that Dadeland and Brickell are prefect for UM students. I don't recommend you Coral Gables area because is really expensive. Also, we need to communte for clinicals in hospitals that are twice a week. If you or one of you decide to move close DT , maybe we can commnute together.

I will definitely let you know what I end up deciding!! And yea definitely the Coral Gables area is just wayyy to expensive. My boyfriend and I found an apartment by dadeland for like 900 for a 1/1 so we were looking into that.

I called today to ask about the letters, since I have only gotten the email so far (back in September) and the letters with all the requirements (fingerprints, etc) are suppose to go out around November 1? I feel like they postpone it every week, but hopefully they send them out soon. lol

to afrochica. I applied on Thrusday Aug 30. My documents didn't get to the admissions committee until Sept 7 Friday. Good luck!

Hi Anelite2014,

Wanted to respond earlier. (Also the reply button seems to be working funny from computer.) Thank you for the congratulations. I live in Miami. I am actually moved to my inlaws and preparing to rent my house. In the event that anybody is interested, it has 3 bedrooms + a study (2000 square feet). Based on the prices that I am seeing, I can probably work out a better price if there are 3 roommates. I will be honest. Many pluses, only it won't be next to UM. However, it is very accesible through Bird Rd, a major Miami thoroghfare. Location was not a problem when volunteering at Doctors Hospital which is acros the street of UM.

Thank you Al_Lima,

I was able to contact a real estate agent today and he will be helping me find a 2/1 around 1200.00 mth. My son (11) will be moving with me so he would need his own space, but please keep me in mind if you find anything that is similar to what I am looking for. Thanks again :)

WOW, well not got the official letter until November? I was ready to frame it and scan it to my computer to show my other family members... I guess they will have to wait. :)

Is there a Facebook group yet? I feel so limited to messaging on this site. Also, looking at a place in downtown dadeland, they are fairly new and reasonably priced, not to mention right on the metro line and 10-12 minutes driving to UM.
