University of Miami accelerated BSN 2012

U.S.A. Florida

Anyone applying to the University of Miami ABSN program for next summer 2012?

I've been to the Coral Gables campus a few times from Boca and it's taken about an hour to an hour and a half on a good day. I'm really worried about finding housing- I want to be close enough to campus but its soooooo expensive. I know other areas may be cheaper but not safer. I really like that University Inn Condo that Grace mentioned in a previous post. I'll probably start looking within the next couple of weekends. Then there's the issue of finding a roommate

I'm wondering if there is anyone who needs or would like to be roommates. Obviously we'd both be nursing students so we would understand the importance of studying, sleeping, studying, etc lol.

If anyone is interested send me a message.

Also if anyone knows where to find a roommate please let me know.

As of right now, looking for nursing scholarships. I'm trying to find out more information about the UM Accelerated Nursing Scholarship since the information on the website is old. I emailed about a month ago but still haven't received a response. Some of the links on the UM page are old too. I might have to head down to the main campus and actually find someone about it.

Other than that, federal loans etc.

I'm starting to look for places right now online and basically go apartment hunting soon. It's a pretty good drive from Boca. I'm hoping I can move in December so I can settle in.

@m&m112 and @red123, did you receive anything else besides the acceptance packet?

Forgot, my name is Sutton.

Hi Sutton! I had some classes with you at FAU. I will be going to UM Spring 2012 too! I only got the acceptance packet so far but I was thinking of making an appt. with my doctor to get the immunization stuff taken care of. Do you know if we need to do a cpr class or anything before attending?

Hi all:

The background check took about 2 months for me. The background check itself turns around in a day, the drug screen takes about 3 days, but the FBI fingerprint screening took 2 months. Some peoples got returned to them because the FBI said the prints were not legible. I sent 2 extras in the packet so they could pick and choose to avoid this problem. Go to umbackcheckdotcom( the dot is an actual .) just we cant post links on here, and get the process started. Mine was $95.00. med calc ISBN 0323056296. GL :)

Hi Everyone!!

This is just an FYI for the background/fingerprints/drug screen link....I just got off the phone with the School of Nursing and they advised me that FLORIDA residents should not order the background stuff yet; they will be updating the system with a faster method by next week. They asked me to check back next week and place my other then. We do, however, need to fax over the consent to the Office of Student Services asap....

Hope this helps

Liana

I found the med calc book on Amazon for $48.95 with free shipping

Awesome! Joining now :)

I want to know if you want it to be a closed group (which i have set now which Anyone can see the group and who's in it. Only members see posts) or I can set it to a secret group (Only members see the group, who's in it, and what members post.) But I'm not sure if you would be able to search for it on fb.

I think it being a closed group is fine. I'm pretty sure if it's secret you can't search for it.

Congratulations to all of you accepted to January 2012!

I am applying for May 2012 - I'm just wondering, where did all of you take courses for the Statistics requirement? I took introductory Probability & Statistics as an undergrad, so I think I may need a higher-level/health care focused one. Hoping to find one online!
