University of Miami Accelerated BSN spring 2018

Hey all, I've been waiting to see a UM ABSN 2018 thread pop up but figured I might as well start one. I submitted my application on March 17 and still waiting for NursingCAS to verify my transcripts. From what I've gathered through past threads, its a rolling admission so I'm hoping to hear back in the next few months! Curious if there's anybody else out there who has applied or planning on applying!

@Danivc91 Thanks for the info! I will call this morning and ask about sending them my transcripts.

All my transcripts have been verified and i received my Canelink login aswell. How do I view my GPA on NursingCas? Also after i log into canelink do i need to do a CaneID verification before i can view anything?

@alexisb1 you should def be fine. I had a ~3.4 overall. Besides having at least a 3.0 overall GPA, idk what they're looking for. I don't have any previous medical experience. As for NursingCAS: I sent 2 transcripts at different times. They had my undergrad transcript for like a month, didn't begin verifying it at all. Then they received my prereq transcript about a week after I submitted my app to UM, and they verified both that same day. A few hours later, I got a confirmation email from UM advising NursingCAS had sent over everything. CaneLink is a pretty simple website. We can't access much right now, but once you get your login info, keep an eye on "Communications" area. I didn't get an email notifying I had a message there, I just came up on it one day.

@Sharpelzee once NursingCAS has verified all your transcripts, they calculate an overall GPA. To see that info, click on "Check Status", under "My Programs" it lists your application to UM. Click on the drop down arrow to the very right, and there will be a "Download PDF" button that gives you an overview of your whole app including the calculated GPA

@sierra_fixtrot thanks lot. I now see my GPA. I got another email today saying my application as been submitted to the committee for review and that I will be contacted once a decision is made. Did anyone get the same email?

Hi everyone! I also applied for Spring 2018 and just came across this thread! They just sent me my CaneLink today after sending the email that it was being reviewed by the committee on Monday. Hopefully we find out soon! Good luck to everyone :)

Hello Class of 2018 (Spring).

To all the new accepted students...I congratulate you. Remember to do all the requirements on the Certificate of Admissions. Specially be ready to start working in gathering all of your vaccination records immediately --- utmost importance if you ask me.

Does everyone know that we will be having classes I presume in the new Nursing building that will open later this Summer ? It will be the most advanced in the country from what I see. Very exciting.

Out of curiosity what are you Academic Backgrounds ? I have two BAs in Psychology and Spanish Literature. MPH in Health Management and Policy...and Graduate Certificate in Health Services Administration.

Hope to get to know all of you during Orientation ! If we have a unified class -- it will be beneficial to all of us. Our program I have been told is Academic Suicide. We shall persevere !

on your canelink account, go to self services, student admission and then application status. You should see where it say application complete or incomplete.

Hey Voltaire, I don't know, maybe they will tell us that when we start. Academic wise I have a Bachelor's in Biology and medical experience as a Phlebotomist in a Hospital.

For all of the people that have been accepted, are you guys applying for scholarships? If so, which ones?

Hi everyone, What does an acceptance look like on Canelink? does it explicitly say Accepted or what? and do you get an email as well?
