University of Miami Accelerated BSN spring 2015

Published

Hello everyone, I just wanted to start this thread for anyone interesting or planning on applying to UM for spring 2015. I am finishing up the pre-requisites I need...doing micro class and lab. So far those are the only things I know I have to take. I'm extremely nervous, mainly because of the waiting game to see if I'm accepted or not.

I had to take over class, so I am not too happy about that either, so that also makes me a little down.

Also when I called the other day, someone said they are changing the application process, did anyone else hear that information?

Are you guys finish with all your pre-requisites?

Do you know how much repeating a class puts you in the hole for not getting accepted?

Ok thank you! I will look back in the thread. I submitted my application to the CAS August 23rd and got verified September 17th (had one transcript take a long time.) I called on Thursday to check on the application of my status and they told me it was going in for review that day and I had an email about my acceptance the next morning. I almost feel like calling maybe expedited the process haha.

Has anyone received the nursing packet yet with the things we need to complete before January?

No package from the Nursing dept. yet. Has anyone else received general emails from UM? I received 2 today one to apply for spring, and and 1 "previewtheU", Im confussed and anxious!

I keep getting general emails too.

I haven't received any general emails, just the initial acceptance packet. When I called the financial aid office, they said they send their stuff out in November.

Actually, I have gotten the general emails; they were in my junk email.

Ok, no sooner than I posted earlier, I received the letter from SONHS with the background check and immunization info.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say hello. It seems I am a little late in regards to submitting my app. I just submitted it today but the cutoff is Nov 1. My Previous graduate GPA was 2.76, but my prereqs.GPA is 4.0. I am from Colombia and being an international student I have to take the Toefl exam which is scheduled for later this month. I am also finishing my last two prereq classes this semester. I have worked since I was 15, put myself thru college and now I want to follow my dream of being a nurse. When I spoke to UM today they said the program gets about 200 applicants and takes 80. She said the majority that don't make it are either under the cum 3.0 they require or they have not completed their prereqs. Has anyone been accepted already whos GPA or circumstances are similar to mine? All this is a bit nerve wracking, just trying to reach out to others in the similar situation. Would love to hear from anyone...

My overall GPA is a 3.1 and my prereq gpa is a 3.0 It is nerve wrecking for me as well.....

But congratz to all that are already accepted I am still waiting to hear

Is there a cutoff or last day when they send out acceptance notices?

thanks again..
