I'm new to this site so I apologize in advance if a thread for this has already started but I am looking for any applicants out there for the FNP program for Fall 2011 at University of Maryland's school of nursing. I'm totally stressing over this waiting because I work with this guy who applied last semester and was rejected and he's pretty much a genius, lol. Then I found some posts from Fall 2010 and everyone was rejected. How competitive is getting into this program. I'm starting to think I should really be thinking about what I will do if I don't get in. Anyone know what they are looking for in the application process other than a high GPA?
It depends on the department. I checked my status on Friday and to my surprise I was accepted!:yeah:Youre better off waiting for the decision to be updated online because you wont get any info via phone.
yes, congrats to you! i am also wondering if you had an interview?? i did call today, prior to ready this post and they said decision letters would be mailed within a week to a week and a half, however, if they require an interview that would be a "rejection" on my end because there has been no call for an interview for me.
I've been monitoring this thread while I was also agonizing over the wait
For a decision! I applied to the acute care np program and just found out I got in.. But our interviews were before the FNP interviews .. And speaking as someone who did their undergrad at UMB- they certainly take their sweet old time! So good luck to you all and I know your pain! I thought I'd rip someones head off in the last week stretch!

I haven't been called for an interview...that's why I'm pretty sure I'm not getting in but I wish they would come on and post it, ya know. Congrats to you...I hope you enjoy the program! :-)
I got my official "rejection" yesterday....cried for about 15 minutes and now I'm ready to figure out what's next, don't want to sit here in limbo doing nothing. I hear I can go for my MSN and then apply post grad school for NP, does anyone know anything about whether or not you have to pursue a specific MSN in order to do that?? I am going to call an adviser today for the online school I did my BSN at but I just wanted to see if anyone else had any info. Thanks!
TEE - did you apply to the FNP program? You heard on May 2? When was your interview? Thanks!
I don't think she applied to the FNP program. But you did and have an interview right? I take it you're still waiting to hear back. Me too. I was never given an exact time as to when we would hear back but interviews ended almost 2 weeks ago so I'm thinking they should be close. I'm tempted to call.....but think I should just sit back and wait.

Tee78,
Did you apply to the FNP program? Also, did you have an interview?
