1 semester down, 1 to go! or 5 classes. 1st semester went good. Most classes follow the same format- weekly quizzes, discussion board postings, 2-3 page papers, crossword puzzle, miscellaneous small assignments, and a final project either a longer paper or a PowerPoint presentation. APA format for everything. Grading doesn't seem too terribly hard. Usually the weekly quizzes are 30% of the your grade, the final is 30% of your grade and everything else adds up to be 40% of your grade. So you have to do the final project to pass, but if you are doing ok leading up to the final, its going to be pretty hard to fail. Very doable while working full-time. Some professors better than others, some TAs better than others, it's school, it's just online. Advisor quick to answer general university questions. Books can be rented, or bought, not terribly expensive. I'm taking two classes this semester and rented both books for a total of $55. I started July 2013 and if all goes well I'll be done the end of June (God willing). I do not have any information on the capstone project. It is the last class. So far, I have not had to meet or do any work outside of the book or nursing journals. For community health, I had to drive around a 2 mile radius of the neighborhood, and do a windshield survey.

I attended another university (very popular) online, and it just did not work for me. Too many papers, too many discussion board responses, too much emphasis on APA format over content. I restarted at UL of L and it has a different feel, and has worked out well for me. UL of L may or may not work for you. Good Luck!

Any more updates? Any regrets with going to ULL?

I actually got accepted to the school where I did my ADN, Weber State University, for their RN to BSN, so I went with them instead. Less additional courses, 2 semesters, summer off. ULL seemed like a good alternative, though. Good luck to you all!

I just started at ULL yesterday and it seems great. Finished the first weeks reading, crossword puzzle and quiz. Seems like these are due almost every week. Some weeks a 2-3 page paper is due. It seems pretty easy right now, so I guess we will see. I chose ULL because I only have to take 3 gen ed classes which I am taking through a community college to save on cost, and the cost at ULL is 8,500, literally have of other schools. No clinicals. Hoping I continue to like it!

I started at the beginning of this week 2 and i am having a problem with the crossword puzzle. It is so hard!!! OMG I put in the words and look at the page of the book listed on the instructions and I am getting them all wrong. I have been on it for the past 3 hours and I am freaking out!!

I don't think that I am gonna take 2 classes at a time like I had planned to. I am gonna extend it to one class at a time. Because that crossword puzzle is so hard. I read the chapter 2x, made my own notes, and reviewed my notes, and of course went over the power point slides available.

I even bought that student plus thing for the book which is worthless because it's only the digital version of the book.

Just wondering how did you do that puzzle?? I am having such a hard time with it!!

English is not my first language, and when I type in the words according to the instructors hint it doesn't correlate to be the right answer.

I don't know what to do!!

The crossword was hard! I think I managed to finally get 97% on it and finally said screw it this is good enough. There are spaces in the crossword like "code of ethics" is spelled out with spaces between the words and not crammed together. You also can hit the "check crossword" button and check your answers as you go and it will give you a percent of what you got right

I'm currently trying to decide between ULL and for my RN to BSN. I just had a few questions about ULL for current or past students. First, are there any group projects? I've seen in previous posts there are DQ's and responses required, those are fine, but I'm hoping to stay away from group projects. Second, one of the things I've really liked about WGU is the RN to BSN and RN to MSN students have a very active Facebook group, where they help and encourage each other. I was wondering if ULL had anything similar either on Facebook or in a student community. Thanks in advance!

So far, I've had no group projects. I have 2 courses plus the capstone left. As far as Facebook, I'm not a member of Facebook, nor will I ever become a member of Facebook, so I don't know.

Thank you for your answer. Yay for no group projects :) And regarding Facebook, I hear ya. I hadn't been a member before learning of the group, and so far it's the only thing I've used my account for. I do like the group quite a bit though, especially for online school, it's nice to have a set place to talk to your classmates, be able to vent, and get encouragement.

I'll call ULL today, see if I can get this application started!
