I took the statistics class through a community college since it was way cheaper. I had 3 pre reqs to finish along with the nursing classes and I have taken all the pre reqs through a community college.

DMACC Evening PT Nursing Program Urban Campus
I think the waiting list varies. I'm not sure about the part time program, as I did the full time. I know I went on the waiting list in July 2009...I got a letter of acceptance in February 2010 stating I was accepted to start in August 2010--so a little over a year is what it took. But that also was a couple of years ago as well. My best advice is to make sure you do ALL of your pre reqs before actually starting the program. It's a lot of work, and I can't imagine adding other classes on top of it. On another note, dmacc has an exceptional nursing program! I'm very proud of the fact that I graduated from dmacc. The instructors are amazing. I wouldn't have gone anywhere else

I guess every school I've gone to, online or not has been that way, so since I knew up front it didn't bother me lol. Good luck to you!

University of Louisiana Lafayette
That's a bummer. They told me up front that it would take 6-8 weeks from the time I sent transcripts. And then they actually completed them before that time. I have been really pleased with the program, well everyone but the financial aid office....

That's too bad. I had a wonderful experience signing up. It took about a month for them to receive and review my transcripts and then I got an email stating I was accepted. I started in January and love the program. Good luck to you!

I'm in my second term at university of Louisiana, and I love it so far! 7 week classes, cheap, instructors are great. Content is easy. I work full time, and usually work overtime and I've had no problems completing my classes so far. Just another school to look at :)

Thanks shuggypie! The terms fly by. I love the 7 week classes. It keeps me busy between school and work. But I love knowing I will be done quickly, and it's relatively easy!

I just completed the first term, 353 and 354 and am currently taking statistics as well, while working 3-4 12 hours shifts a week. It's doable. The orientation class you can finish quickly. You create a profile, and take 2 quizzes and then I never had to think about the class again during the 7 weeks. I spent about 2-3 hours a week total on the other class. There was always a quiz due Fridays by 8pm, and either a 2-3 page paper or a discussion question each week pertaining to the chapters assigned. I just took a morning to work on homework on one of my days off and was able to complete everything for the week in the one day. Then I still could have my other days off to relax. Getting ready to start 355 and 396 next week. Good luck to you. So far it's pretty easy and I love it!

Anyone that goes to ULL having trouble getting their financial aid reimbursement? I had to pay my tuition up front because my financial aid didn't cover the full amount, and I was initially told I would be reimbursed 2-3 weeks after the semester started. It's now the middle of week 6, classes are done next week and I still haven't received it. When I called last week they said they haven't even begun sending it out yet. Anyone else having issues? I'm tired of calling and getting the same answers

I'm in my first term of university of Louisiana Lafayette. It will cost me $8500 and I will be done in just a little over 1 year. The courses are laid out great. 7week classes, so far I love it! Just do your research. What's best for all of us, may not work for you. But I recommend university of louisiana to look at as an option

The paper frustrated me. It's hard to only write 3 pages I thought on that subject. And on my feedback, they wrote that I didn't address the assumptions, which was the intent of the paper. I thought I addressed every assumption, without actually saying "for this assumption, I did this...." Maybe that's what they were looking for I guess. I did ok on it-but since it's only worth 15 points, missing just a couple points brings your grade down quickly.

I agree with taking the quiz right away. I literally read the chapters. Went over the power points with my book, did the crossword and the took the test all in one day so it was fresh. Then it was also easier for me to flip through the book for information for the quiz since it was fresh in my head!

The puzzle was really hard! I spent A LOT of time on it, and it seemed like some of the words were not the same as what the book stated. I used the check crossword button a lot to see what percent I had right while doing it because some of the words just didn't fit!!! I don't know if this was part of the problem, but did you notice at the top of the crossword it said "errors found 6" I don't know if that was the reason there were so many issues? Because I notice it while I had a blank screen so i didn't figure it was how many errors I had put in the puzzle

The crossword was hard! I think I managed to finally get 97% on it and finally said screw it this is good enough. There are spaces in the crossword like "code of ethics" is spelled out with spaces between the words and not crammed together. You also can hit the "check crossword" button and check your answers as you go and it will give you a percent of what you got right
