University of Houston (UH) 2nd Degree BSN Spring 2023

Hi everyone! I didn't see a thread for the Spring 2023 class for UH Sugarland's 2nd Degree program so thought I'd go ahead and start it off. I currently have a Bachelor's in Marketing from UH and would love to hear from others who are applying as well.

Congratulations to all of you! I am from a previous cohort, I graduated in December 2020, so I am sure there have been some changes to the curriculum.

Hey! I know previous cohorts had the red scrubs with black on the sides but I’m in the current cohort and ours are all black! I also heard they might be changing scrubs for 2023

On Mondays for lab, we wear all black scrubs ( so I’d just get one pair). For clinicals, we wear our red UH scrub top with black scrub pants( no jogged type). I bought two of the red UH scrub tops for the weeks that I had double clinical in 1 week so I would not have to worry about laundry more than once a week. Then for class, you are allowed to wear any type of scrubs or business casual/professional

Thanks for the info! For class days- do we need to wear all black scrubs or any color is okay? Do most of the class wear scrubs or business casual?

You can wear any color/style scrubs on class days! Most of us wear scrubs

Hey can anyone from the previous cohort tell me what Spring break was like? Did you guys get the full week off? Did you get the weekend before and after Spring break off for clinicals?

We get the full week “off” for Spring break. I say “off” bc most of us used this time to catch up/get ahead on all the assignments. You‘ll most likely have clinical that Wednesday and/or Friday before and after Spring break. You’ll also have an exam the Tuesday you come back from break.

When did you guys get to know your clinical schedule? Is it set for the year or did it change often?

Hey! Does anyone know if we can wear any brand black fleece jacket over the scrubs? Or does it have to be the specific one from the uniform store?
