University of Florida DNP Fall 2021

Nursing Students NP Students

Published

Hello there! I just wanted to start this thread to see if there were any people applying to the University of Florida for next fall for their nurse practitioner program? I am applying to the BSN to DNP specialty in Pediatric Acute Care. Anyone know how the current pandemic might affect the application process? Any current students that might want to share their experiences with application process, and the current state of the program? Thank you all in advanced, looking forward to hearing from you all and starting this journey.

Hey!

I am finishing up my application now for the Fall. I am stuck between FNP and AGACNP. I am also waiting on a few of my references, so once those are in I will submit. I am so nervous. UF is my top school and honestly my GPA is not very good but I have wonderful references. Anyone else applying with a not so great GPA? Do they look at every class for GPA or just nursing courses??

They look at your upper division nursing courses. So, whatever the GPA is for your bachelor’s level courses.

So if they look at BSN GPA mine is way better than my overall!!

Good! Mines the same way, but my BSN GPA is 4.0!

Hi there everyone. I just submitted my application for the part time UF DNP- psych track. I'm super excited and nervous. This was the only program that I applied to. My eggs are all in one basket but I'm hopeful and positive about it. Nursing is my second career as I've got my Masters in social work and worked 4 years after that as a mental health therapist before deciding to go to nursing school. Look forward to going on this journey with all of you. Best of wishes!

Just submitted my application for PMHNP.  I know it's pretty close to the deadline and a total long shot I'll get in, but had to pin down a pretty powerful reference that took a while.  Good luck everyone!

@Jenni4psychBSN Sounds like you'll have no problem at all.  Solid background!

Hi there! I submitted my application for pedi Acute a little while ago, wondering if anyone else has applied without experience? I'm hoping my GPA and my letters of rec help make up for my lack of experience...

Hi! I did ? I applied to the FNP program and am currently still in school obtaining my BSN. I’m banking on my GPA (4.0), letters of rec and personal statement! I also have some background in the healthcare field (Med assistant and PCT) as well as disaster response and hoping that means something haha

we got this!!

I'm so nervous! I'm submitting tomorrow. I've got 3 years, will be 4 when the fall comes in nursing/med surg. My GPA isn't the greatest but my letter of recs are! Got one from the VP of my hospital, granted I have no idea what they say LOL I'm applying to the FNP. Let me tell you my dream has been UF since I was 12! I still feel like it's a long shot but all my eggs are in this basket!! Good luck everyone ❤️❤️❤️

Anyone knows if UF gives any priority to students that did nursing at UF undergrad. I am applying this cycle and I have a low nursing GPA (2.97) but a cumulative GPA of 3.4. I didn't take nursing school seriously enough, but at the same time, I think UF was a really difficult nursing program. Do you think they take this into consideration?

Hi guys! I just applied last week to the AGACNP track. I was in between that and FNP, but eventually picked one. My application was verified today! Do we find out if we are accepted through email or NursingCAS? Good luck everyone!
