Awe this is awesome! Do you mind me asking if you have previous experience or do you know anyone there?

No problem you can ask anything.
I do not know anyone from there or have any sort of connections. However, I started working this year at a student internship in the ER at my local hospital. I also have volunteered in multiple events for the community. Lastly, I got my ACLS a couple months ago. I am not sure if those things helped me, since I also got "Others More Competitive" for PCU's and other units.

Ahh I see, I have my ACLS and PALS as well,  have been an EMT since 2018, also did an internship in the ER but I was in Vegas. I was just curious how the selection process worked. Either way super happy for you! I'd happily take any position here because I think we will build solid foundations for our entire career!! I'm still pending in IMU/PCU but we will see...

I think my biggest setback is I didn't have my license when u applied I took my NCLEX on the 1st so im not sure if that was a factor

I do not have my license yet. I actually will be graduating next month. I have seen that big hospitals use AI to filter out resumes/cover letter. So I also made sure to build those two super AI friendly, to have better chances of having an actual human reading my stuff. I know AI does very poor with two-column resumes, weird formatting, fancy fonts, etc.

Ohhh this is so helpful! I do have a two column resume!! I also used a template for my cover letter which could be an issue. Thank you so much for your insight! Either way 4 more hospitals should open in SD in the next two weeks if we don't land one of these 20 haha and I will definitely update my resume thanks to you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I hope I was able to help.

I wanted to ask, which other hospitals are opening? I am not local from San Diego, so I didn't have any idea more hospitals were gonna open up residencies recently.

Sorry busy weekend, yes 4 hospitals.

Tri-city usually opens positions at the end of November from what I have seen from the last 2 years, add them on linked in because they usually post there.

SHARP opens tomorrow 11/19

Palomar opens 12/3

Scripps opens 12/1

Kaiser is going to open in January I believe

Has anyone heard back from the PCUs to schedule an interview?
