Hello everyone
I wanted to start a forum for those who will be applying to the UCSD New Grad program March 2025
applications opened yesterday and this would be a place for everyone to keep each other updated on the process!

I do know someone in 6BMT where I had an interview so it makes sense. He said when he got hired as a clinical nurse II one of his school mates referred him there so he knew someone when he got hired as well.

Thank you for this honest information. I wish you the best of luck and I truly hope you get this job 🙂

If assumed it was internal, I think they still give others a fair shot by inviting them to interviews. Because who knows, they could favor someone more than their potential internal candidate. I try to be optimistic after rejections and fully believe in "it wasn't meant to be because there is a better opportunity." San Diego in general is very competitive across all the hospital systems. Scripps has a "transition to OR" new grad program a few times throughout the year.
I would also highly recommend emailing the hiring manager to ask for feedback from your interview/application. I did that with one of the interviews from the last application cycle, and it really helped me determine my areas of improvement to make me a stronger candidate for next time.

I already emailed her for feedback. It's kinda hard to be optimistic about a "better" opportunity when I had to drain my 401k to pay my mortgage and feed my children 🤷♀️ with absolutely no call backs or interviews in 100+ applications

This is awesome, when did you have your interview and when was the offer? Just curious how long I will be waiting haha. Congratulations!
It was for La Jolla ED. I had my interview Thursday and received a phone call the next day on Friday. However, I was told that it could take up to 3 weeks to get a phone call. I am very excited and cannot believe I got it. I am waiting until I sign to celebrate:)
For clarification, I do not know anybody within the UCSD system. A lot of my friends applied and some have way more experience working as CNA, MA, etc. However, they didn't get an interview at all. The only difference is that I am already enrolled in a BSN and they are not. Maybe that was a factor?

6 BMT is not sure about other units.
