University of Calgary, January 2021

Updated:   Published

Hey everyone! I am planning to apply to the degree holder route for nursing at the University of Calgary for January 2021. I found this site by reading through the University of Calgary, January 2020 forum and thought it would be good to start one for this next years in take.

I am currently finishing my English prerequisite and my anatomy and physiology course at Athabasca. Last year it looked like the GPA cut off was a 3.6 and that most people over a 3.7 got accepted.

has any internal transfer student from u of c gotten an offer yet? if so mind sharing your GPA as well.

Anyone remember how long it took for them to make a decision once they got this message:

"Your documents have been reviewed and your file is now ready for assessment.

Your application will be reviewed within 2-4 weeks for admission. Please note that evaluation of International documents and credentials may take up to 6 weeks.

You will be notified once an evaluation has been completed."

After this message I got the message that they were evaluating my courses for transferability. Overall from that message it took about 2 weeks after seeing this message before I received my acceptance.

That's great! I'm glad it wasn't the full 4 weeks!! LOL the difference between 2 weeks of stress vs 4 weeks of stress.

LOL yeah totally get it. My 2 weeks of waiting were the worst. I emailed so many different people (no one could help me) regarding my courses that they were evaluating just to make them aware that one of my courses had a course code change from the one that they had on file that was considered “equivalent”  at the faculty as I took my anatomy and physiology from a different university in Alberta. Anyways good luck and I hope you hear good news within the next 2 weeks!

Hello everyone

I have been following this thread for awhile now. Congrats to all who have gotten in already and fingers crossed to all of us still waiting. I applied through the after degree route with a 3.53. The waiting is unbearable and hopefully we get good news this year. The world badly needs us especially with covid breathing down our necks. ??

I know how you feel!! So much anxiety just checking the student page everyday. I hope we hear from them soon.

Hey Guys,

Anyone know if when calculating the GPA if they take the highest marks from your last year or only the highest marks from your last semester?

Also anyone planning to move to Calgary and looking at apts?

long time lurker, but I have just received tentative admission (yellow check mark) with a 3.65! can't wait to meet everyone!

Congrats!! May I ask why it is tentative? like what are they waiting for? official documents?

thank you! I called them and they just needed my official transcript from my university, it's been received so they said that it'll take a couple of weeks to change my status from tentative to admitted.
