Hey everyone! I am planning to apply to the degree holder route for nursing at the University of Calgary for January 2021. I found this site by reading through the University of Calgary, January 2020 forum and thought it would be good to start one for this next years in take.

I am currently finishing my English prerequisite and my anatomy and physiology course at Athabasca. Last year it looked like the GPA cut off was a 3.6 and that most people over a 3.7 got accepted.

OMG I finally got in!! This has been the most stressful month ever!! I believe my GPA was 3.87, and all my documents got submitted around September 5th. I got the 2-4 week notice last Wednesday and now after a week I got the green check. So excited!! And good luck to everyone else, I know it's stressful times but just a little bit longer wait.

Hey, I was just wondering are any of you guys taking classes through this fall semester? waiting to find out for nursing is so hard! just wanted to know how you all are keeping yourselves busy especially during this pandemic!

Hi guys! Long time lurker but I applied to the degree holder route and just got that little green check mark today! I believe I had a 3.77, submitted on my documents on the 2nd of September, and I got the application completed notice last Monday.  I applied last year didn’t get in so I’m extra excited to meet you all and I’m sending good vibes to everyone still waiting!

Does anyone know when we may get our admissions packages? Or if anyone has received them yet?

I have already received my admission’s package with the letter in the mail but no information package about what needs to be done before school starts. Anyone know when they will start sending them out either by mail or email?

Congrats to everyone that has received acceptance so far!

Does anyone know what the total tuition would be for this? Where can I access this info? I tried looking for the nursing tutiotion but it was coming up blank on my end

Hey jkredd,

Yeah it was really hard waiting, I'm just gonna enjoy the few months before the program starts by going on hikes and spending time at home. Hopefully you hear back from them soon!!

I hope we get them soon!! I was reading last years forum and they mentioned a bunch of things we need to get done before January like vaccines, N95 fittings and police checks.

Damn I tried calculating and I got an estimate of 27K and this is without housing and meal plan included. Are schools in Calgary usually much more expensive than other places?

and if people don't mind sharing, how are you intending on funding your tuition?
