Status on uvic has changed to recommended by department... Got rejected by UBC but looks like I am in for Uvic.

Amazing & Congrats! I didn't know there was another status update in between "under review by department" and "provisionally admitted.” Good to know! Mine is still listed at "under review by department" for the post-master's NP stream.  Good luck to everyone 🙂

Congrats @WJJ! My UVic status changed to "Recommended by Department" today as well, but I've already accepted a seat at TRU.

Eek! Mine says this, too! Looks like I might actually have to get started on that stats course 😅

Was it an email? Or you just saw it changed? Still nothing for mine. Trying not to stress. 😥

I haven't received an email, but I noticed that the status changed in the online portal under "submitted application and status."

ERNurseHailey I remember you said you had a note in your application that said "mature admit memo.” Where about's did you see that on your application? Maybe mature admits are processed in a different manner/timeline?

Oh yeah, that could be. It's only my application with documents. It says "memo from department - mature admit"

Hi everyone!

I got rejected from UNBC but I checked my application status on the uvic site and it changed to "recommended by department" I'm hoping this means good news! Fingers crossed for everyone waiting to hear back!

Is there a list of accepted Statistics courses for UVic? Couldn't find anything on the Uvic website of actual courses they accept. Likely take through Athabasca

This is the response I received a few months ago from UVic about the statistics courses:

Some online courses that we would accept are:

Athabasca University
SOCI 301
MGSC 301
MATH 315

We are looking for an online or in-person course completed within five years of the start-date of the MN program, with a final grade of 'B' or higher. It would need to be at the 300 or 400 (upper) level and have Statistics in the title or subtitle.

Also, important to note that MN applicants may be accepted conditionally with the expectation that the pre-requisite course(s) are completed by July 31 prior to the September entry to the program.
