University of British Columbia (UBC) BSN September 2016 Applicants

Published

For all of us applying to UBC's BSN 2016 program, let's communicate, share and give encouragement to one another throughout the process.

I just submitted my general UBC application to get the ball rolling early, and it already gave me access to get started on my supplemental application. This is my second time applying, so I hope to do a better job on my app this year and at least get an interview. But I have also accepted that this may not be my fate and I have other options.

Incidentally, to others who also applied previously: I phoned to make sure all my transcripts were still on file, and they are not! UBC admissions discards everything from last year. So I have six transcripts to send in again (including high school). Expensive and time consuming, and also seems a little crazy in the age of computers that they didn't keep electronic copies. But, we do what we have to do... Good luck everyone!

Congrats to those who got an offer! When is the deadline to accept or decline the offer just out of curiosity?

I think the deadline is June 15.

I Just got an acceptance letter too!!! so relieved, cant wait to meet all of you...Thanks to everyone for your support and advice and just sharing this process with me.:D

I got my acceptance email today!!!

eek got my acceptance letter today too!!!! i cannot wait to meet you all in September!!

Congrats to everyone who got accepted. Unfortunately I did not get accepted this time. I was wondering if anyone had some words of advice for the interview? I scored in the top 25% in both the GPA and Supplemental and I felt as though the interview went well. I don't really understand where I went wrong.

Has anyone's offer actually showed up online yet?

To be honest Im not really sure what they even looked for, because I thought I had bombed my interview. I started crying after it thats how bad I felt..but I guess it was just enough for them..

@ubc12345 I completely agree. I honestly thought I bombed my interview and felt like crying right afterwards...but now that I know I got an offer, I tried to think about the things I did well in the interview. I think I was able to show my passion by answering the questions truthfully and wholeheartedly...and really meant what I have said word by word.

Has anyone created a facebook group yet? :D

A Facebook group has been created for those accepted. It's called "UBC Nursing Cohort 2016-2018." After you ask to join a member will send you a private message and you will need to reply with the answer to a security question.

Congrats to everyone accepted and to those who haven't heard yet - sit tight! They said emailing acceptances/rejections may take maybe a few days. @bcastle I felt the same as a lot of other people here, that my interview wasn't my best but I also didn't think it went awfully. I guess my strength was that I tried to be as genuine as I could in all of my answers and as much as I was nervous, thought I displayed my enthusiasm for the program well. Keep trying! @futurenursling my status hasn't changed yet either. Priority was probably sending out the e-mails. @julianth can you PM me a link to the facebook group? I cant find it.

I look forward to seeing a lot of you in September!!! :)
