If your uniform gets really, really messed up in clinicals, what do you do?

I only have clinical once a week this Fall and since we have to get the expensive Dove scrubs, I am only buying one set... so I'm wondering...

For the LOVE OF....@#%#$%$, who invented these uniforms! I received mine today! Oh how lovely it accents all the curves...EWWWW EWWWW double EWWWWW:rotfl:

And not to mention, The breast plate thingy.....whatever you call it....has a patch sewn on it with our school name, how lovely and nice it is....can we say CROOKED! WE pay top dollar for these and they are sloppy.

I dont know if I should contact the company and let them no, or what I should do.

Just wanted to share!!!

If it is noticeably crooked, I'd probably ask for it to be corrected- if there is time.

I bought 2 uniforms...after purchasing the hose, shoes, 2 uniforms, steth, I spent $289.....guess that sounds norm after reading the other posts.

These are what our uniforms look like:

Let me tell you: they look ok here, but they stink! :angryfire

Cheap, thin material pants. They are tapered down the leg, with a thick waist band. WHY? I am totally short, I DO NOT NEED TAPERED PANTS! The shirt is ok although it flares out A LOT at the bottom (it doesn't look like it in the photo, but when I was fitted I was like OMG!). I think I would kind of like it but with my physique it makes me look fatter and is not flattering at all. I would switch out my pants but I bought the package deal with two shirts, two pants, sneakers, patch, and embroidery included. Whatever :uhoh3: . I will look like a big doofus...I'll look like a hot air balloon waiting to take off! 7_2_100.gif

Are you talking about messed up beyond washing or repairing??? I would think it you are thinking about that you might need to purchase another uniform to be on the safe side. I'm sure after time goes on you will be going to clinicals more often. Don't you think?

I know my school requires that we purchase two tops, two bottoms, and one lab coat. They said all of that is around $150. If it is anymore than that then I am going to scream.. :rotfl:

I am with you on the price. Thankfully, my uniforms came up to around $80 for two sets. We were required to buy from a certain company.

hmmm................i can't believe that some school require such expensive uniforms. we were told to buy our own just that they had to be white..................they weren't some much as ugly as they were see-through:o , i had to go buy those boy cut undies to wear to the hospital.............it was also nice that at the two uniform places were i bought mine they gave a discount with my id badge from school.

I was hoping upon hope that my school would not require white pants, but alas they did. I have to go buy new underwear too. I really am not looking forward to the white pants.

What is with white uniforms? Geesh, you get a little stain on them and they're destroyed. Not to mention that a group of nursing students with their instructor looks like a flock of baby geese following their mama goose. We get comments from the staff nurses like "hear comes the white cloud". We usually clear the hallways when walking in groups. You'd think it was a wedding or something. I really hate making our grand entrance onto the floors. We're so obvious.

We have white polo shirts with the logo on the pocket and white pants. Worst of all, we have to tuck in our shirts!!! I can't wait to get a clinical where my preceptor or instructor doesn't care if it's tucked in or not tucked in because I look like the Goodyear blimp crashed in a snow bank. I used to be very light blonde but the bleach blonde/white skin/white uniform and shoes was just too bright so I toned it down.

I'd like to wear black scrubs. They're very slimming.

Yes, black or navy blue would be nice. Ours are light blue and white pinstriped. Problem is they are so plastic feeling--very very uncomfortable...don't move with you and are hot to wear. Even with lots and lots of washing, still not soft. Would just like to wear a pair of comfortable cotton pants and a cotton polo shirt instead of battling these polyester plastic uniforms we're made to wear.

We don't order our uniforms until orientation on Aug. 26. I haven't seen these lovely things yet, but I have to tell you that you are all scaring me!!! LOL I hope the cost is not too outrageous. I already know I have to wear white pants. I hope I can buy an extra pair or 2 from another supplier. (I bought a 4 pack of white undies already)

Ugh, I didn't even think of that until now. Mine requires white pants, too! :o

The company doing our uniforms came by our school and then we got to try them on. They suck. Big time. Uncomfortable and stratchy as hell! Big stupid pants, and I'm like 5"1' so I get to look extra ridiculous, yay me!

We have to wear a short sleeved dress shirt with blue and white vertical stripes, the pants, and we have a lab coat with 3/4 sleeves that has the SON (School of Nursing) emblem on the arm. I got 2 shirts, 2 pants, 1 lab coat, and a name tag. It came out to $102. Not that bad I guess.

I am hoping that maybe I can find a pair of pants with the same pokcet style but made out of a nicer more quality material online and switch it out without them noticing. I wish we could wear those flared pants, I saw some at allheart.com that Dickies makes. That would be soooooo nice...
