UNF Summer 2020

Looking for anyone who is applying for Summer 2020 at UNF or has applied previously?

I currently have a 306 on the TEAS and a 3.9 pre-rec GPA. I will be retaking the TEAS to attempt to score higher, but if I do not, do you think I have a chance still to make it to interviews? Any tips will be much appreciated!

Hi Fawzia, I am Reapplying again in the fall also. I have a 350 on the TEASE and 3.75 GPA. I think we could really help each other as we reapply again in the fall. I tried looking for a way to private message you and snowflake on this forum but it doesn’t seem to be allowable.

Thank you Courtney050. I have spoken with Beth and an advisor in BCOH and have a plan in place. Praying for acceptance in the fall!!

Are you local @Bquinlan and @Fawzia Elgamil? It would be great if y’all wanted to try to get together and prep for our TEAS retake and talk things over!
I planned to attend the nurse workshop again coming up, but with everything going on with the virus it’s been canceled.

Hey guys how are you handling the whole COVID 19 thing? I heard they’re switching to online for Summer??? I’m worried that’s gonna happen to fall too! How are we supposed to do practicals or clinicals online??? I would have loved to meet up with you guys but corona obviously ruined that. For those that are in the program now, how are they planning on doing your clinicals? I’m curious how Summer and fall are gonna play out!

Hello!

I was accepted into the Summer APL. UNF did send out a message that Summer seasons A and C (through sometime in June) are strictly online. I assume this means for the nursing program as well. Everything is so unpredictable right now and I think we have all been forced to live day by day. It is not the ideal learning situation and of course I’m not thrilled. At the end of the day I am still thankful. It was my second time applying and I wish the best of luck to everyone! Stay well!

Hey guys!

I was also accepted into the Summer APL. I am from South Florida and am bummed to hear that our first semester will be online:(! I was wondering if anyone lives out of Jacksonville like me and if they are planning on staying home instead of trying to get an apartment in Jacksonville for the Summer to save money? As mentioned, I am sad I will not get to meet you guys right away, but I am so thankful and excited for this journey!

Hi!! I am currently a 2nd Semester RPL and my clinical for the rest of the semester has been canceled. To make up for it, we have to do HESI patient case studies. Once you get in you will have assigned HESI case studies for most of your classes and they are using extra case studies and online sim to make up for clinical hours. Unfortunately, I don't know how online classes will affect your first semester. You are learning fundamental nursing skills and assessments so it is very important that you are face-to-face and in the lab for the first semester. Second semester is very difficult material and tests wise and it is honestly less clinical. So its not such a loss with the classes switching to an online platform.

If you search up most common questions asked at nursing interviews, you’ll probably find at least two of the questions that they’re gonna ask you or at least close to the questions. They’re really just trying to get a feel of your personality and how that would make the nursing field perfect for you. They will have a interview workshop kinda thing before the interview, held by the nursing students though. In terms of Corona, it did not affect the interview process because it wasn’t really that big deal over here just yet. It is having an effect on the Spring and Summer term though. I know I didn’t give you too much, but I don’t want to get in trouble for sharing the exact questions. Keep looking in other chats though, like the ones for last year, because I’m pretty sure that I got some help from those. Good luck! You got this!!
