UNF summer 2011 hopefull

Published

I would like to contact others who have applied to UNF for summer of 2011. Although I have a degree, I am applying for the RPL program and not the accelerated program because I have kids at home. I have 3.68 GPA and 87% TEAS V. I guess they will send out interview invitations mid-February.

AAAAAAGHHHHHH!!!!!!

SO, how did everyone's interview go? I'm glad mine was at 8:30 because it looked pretty hectic around there when we came out. I think I had a great bunch in my group, very diverse and everyone did a good job with all of the questions. Although I don't think I could have done any better personally, it's hard to tell what the outcome will be. I just can't believe I'll be on vacation next week and won't get the letter until I get back!!

My interview was at 1030. Actually it was delayed a bit because the other groups were taking a little longer than expected. Although, it was nice to sit around and ask the nursing students and staff questions beforehand. One of the nursing students was a friend i used to work with in the military, and the guy who was in charge of managing the interviews was a prior service member who also worked where i worked, so we got to do a bit of military talk. It was fun.

As for the interview itself...well, i think i did well in expressing my desire to become a nurse and for attending UNF. Of course, because of the nerves, i don't think i said all that i had wanted to. Anyway, i gave it my 100%. Now to play the waiting game. Best of luck to us all!

I was in the 930 group. I felt much better about this interview than I did others, for sure. Perhaps it was the atmosphere and getting to talk with other applicants as well as current students. My group was awesome, everyone did really well. I walked out of there feeling like I did the best I could do in expressing my desire to become a nurse, and especially a UNF Nursing student. Hopefully, it came across to the interviewers. I will say, I am happy this process is finally coming to a close. All of this waiting is slowly killing me :) Good luck to everyone! I wish we could all get accepted!

Congrats to everyone who interviewed today. I interviewed at 9:30 and everyone in my group seemed to do amazing. Our interviewers were really awesome. I really enjoyed the time we got to spend with the nursing students for questions and answers as well. It was extremely helpful and certainly helped calm my nerves. Now we wait :)

Oh thank God that's over, LOL! :D

The interview experience was not as bad as I thought it would be. We were pretty relaxed as a group and we had really nice interviewers. Everyone in my group was really well-spoken and I think they all have a good chance of getting in. On my end, I left with the satisfaction of knowing that I did the best I could, I did not leave with any "should have's" in my head and was happy with my responses. The only negative thing on my part was the fact that I did not get to ask a question at the end due to time. Only 3 of the 5 candidates got a chance to ask questions at the end before one of the profs said we had to conclude. Not sure if that will be a bad thing attached to my score. But I'm not going to fret about it, my fate with UNF is sealed now! The wait begins! I don't expect to receive anything in the mail until Thurs considering I got an interview letter a day after everyone else who lives in JAX.

I was in the 8:30 group. So glad it's behind me that I don't mind the wait so much-- just happy not to be nervously anticipating the interview anymore. I agree with all of the above opinions on the interview process, and the way the interviewers/faculty put us at ease (as did the current students who sat with us while we awaited the actual interview). SO appreciated!!!! And, although I applied to the Accelerated program, there are distinct advantages to being in the two-year program (as one of our current students was selected for the latter, loved it and is graduating soon), mainly the less-intense pace...

I got a very strong positive "vibe" about the program in general while there this morning; You know how you just sense that everyone works well together? Definitely picked up on that! :yeah::yeah:
