  1. Actually, I'd love to know, too, and so others probably would, as well, so would you mind posting what you learn about age limits from the recruiter on this board, please-oh-please? Thanks!
  2. I've been accepted into to part-time program, too, and own/live in a house with a pool :) in neighboring Peachtree City I'd love to either share with another student or two, or rent it out and find a smaller place to rent for myself. Please feel free to send me a personal message if this might interest you. As for the schedule, I will be trying to find out about that myself this week. I'm excited but it seems we should be busy with immunizations, background check, fingerprints, etc. but I called asking what I need to do prior to the required orientation, and was told "Nothing at all till then." Does anyone know more? I try to find out more first-hand to plan around the schedule and will pass it along here as soon as I do. :)
  3. Thank you so much, Paco!!! You are SUCH an encourager!!! You are going to be an AWESOME nurse!!! :mnnnrsngrk:
  4. Thanx, Binxxx. Just sent a request to join the group. : )
  5. I've just been accepted off the waitlist!! Got a voicemail at around noon today asking if I would be interested if a couple of accepted students who had not yet RSVP'd made other plans. I said "Yes!" and was told they would be sending an e-mail later this afternoon should that be the case. They sent it, I signed and faxed it back to them (as it has a 5/2 deadline). Just an FYI and definitely not gloating or bragging-- Paco69, Pitterpatti and others who declined as soon as they knew for sure they would not be going, I applaud you, as it is not an easy thing to do, letting go of a spot reserved for you!--and so very considerate of you. UCF said it starts in only about two weeks from now!
  6. ShineBox--Thanks f;)or clarifying (personal vs. ucf email) and so quickly!! ALL the BEST to you, nurse-to-be!!
  7. Congrats, ShineBox!! May I ask: Did they contact you via your personal e-mail, or your UCF email? I am waitlisted and have forgotten all about UCF e-mail! Yikes!
  8. HopefulCaryn, do you mean you've been accepted from the time initial decisions were made, or were you accepted recently from the waitlist? Sorry to learn of the speed bumps in registering.
  9. Gatorgrad8, just letting you know I'm in the same boat--waitlisted, no further correspondence received, and only learning of April 1st deadline via this site (which tells me it only applies to those who were initially offered a seat). So, we must be on track. Glad to hear the encouraging news about past waitlisters getting "the call"! :)
  10. You're welcome! By the way, I am not happy with my overall TEAS, however, there so many application materials--letters of recommendation, transcripts/GPA, CV, etc.--that I have the feeling Remington takes into account the whole package to make a qualitative decision. I wll retake my TEAS if I do not get in; I'm thinking of having room for improvement as a good thing because it can improve my chances of being accepted next round! :)
  11. Thank you, FLHusker! Good luck to you!
  12. Biomimetical--or anyone else accepted to UNF's Accelerated or regular BSN programs--can you tell us what the RSVP deadline is, if you wouln't mind? I'm among the waitlisted..... ...thanks!
  13. Sounds fair and reasonable to me! I think ithose HESI "checkpoints" help students keep up/stay current and gauge progress... I'll bet the reviews I read were from crammers who just didn't keep up.. At least one wrote that he/she failed it three times and never got to sit for the NCLEX, blaming Remington for allegedly not wanting to pass students who they didn't feel could pass the NCLEX.. I'm thinking now, "Yeah? And your point is??" because I do not think that's such a bad thing--especially for the sake of patient safety. I've learned to study until the material is second-nature so I am not stressed-out! So, I'll not worry about such posts anymore. Thanks for putting my mind (and likely others') at ease, Flimfly! :)
  14. That's reassuring to hear, Flimfly. Thanks for sharing your experience thus far! I've been looking for any posts by Remington grads in order to find out if there is any truth to reviews I read which state Remington CON will not authorize students to sit for the NCLEX without first passing HESI beforehand with a score of at least 900. I ask during my interview if this is accurate; In the meantime, it would be great to hear from any recent/new RCON grads on this. Anyone?
