Age Limit for Navy & Air Force Nurses
Actually, I'd love to know, too, and so others probably would, as well, so would you mind posting what you learn about age limits from the recruiter on this board, please-oh-please? Thanks!

West Georgia - Newnan PT program...anyone need a roommate?
I've been accepted into to part-time program, too, and own/live in a house with a pool :) in neighboring Peachtree City I'd love to either share with another student or two, or rent it out and find a smaller place to rent for myself. Please feel free to send me a personal message if this might interest you. As for the schedule, I will be trying to find out about that myself this week. I'm excited but it seems we should be busy with immunizations, background check, fingerprints, etc. but I called asking what I need to do prior to the required orientation, and was told "Nothing at all till then." Does anyone know more? I try to find out more first-hand to plan around the schedule and will pass it along here as soon as I do. :)

UCF Accelerated BSN 2011-2012
I've just been accepted off the waitlist!! Got a voicemail at around noon today asking if I would be interested if a couple of accepted students who had not yet RSVP'd made other plans. I said "Yes!" and was told they would be sending an e-mail later this afternoon should that be the case. They sent it, I signed and faxed it back to them (as it has a 5/2 deadline). Just an FYI and definitely not gloating or bragging-- Paco69, Pitterpatti and others who declined as soon as they knew for sure they would not be going, I applaud you, as it is not an easy thing to do, letting go of a spot reserved for you!--and so very considerate of you. UCF said it starts in only about two weeks from now!

UCF Accelerated BSN 2011-2012
Congrats, ShineBox!! May I ask: Did they contact you via your personal e-mail, or your UCF email? I am waitlisted and have forgotten all about UCF e-mail! Yikes!

UCF Accelerated BSN 2011-2012
HopefulCaryn, do you mean you've been accepted from the time initial decisions were made, or were you accepted recently from the waitlist? Sorry to learn of the speed bumps in registering.

UCF Accelerated BSN 2011-2012
Gatorgrad8, just letting you know I'm in the same boat--waitlisted, no further correspondence received, and only learning of April 1st deadline via this site (which tells me it only applies to those who were initially offered a seat). So, we must be on track. Glad to hear the encouraging news about past waitlisters getting "the call"! :)

Remington College of Nursing - Orlando
You're welcome! By the way, I am not happy with my overall TEAS, however, there so many application materials--letters of recommendation, transcripts/GPA, CV, etc.--that I have the feeling Remington takes into account the whole package to make a qualitative decision. I wll retake my TEAS if I do not get in; I'm thinking of having room for improvement as a good thing because it can improve my chances of being accepted next round! :)

Biomimetical--or anyone else accepted to UNF's Accelerated or regular BSN programs--can you tell us what the RSVP deadline is, if you wouln't mind? I'm among the waitlisted..... ...thanks!

Remington College of Nursing - Orlando
Sounds fair and reasonable to me! I think ithose HESI "checkpoints" help students keep up/stay current and gauge progress... I'll bet the reviews I read were from crammers who just didn't keep up.. At least one wrote that he/she failed it three times and never got to sit for the NCLEX, blaming Remington for allegedly not wanting to pass students who they didn't feel could pass the NCLEX.. I'm thinking now, "Yeah? And your point is??" because I do not think that's such a bad thing--especially for the sake of patient safety. I've learned to study until the material is second-nature so I am not stressed-out! So, I'll not worry about such posts anymore. Thanks for putting my mind (and likely others') at ease, Flimfly! :)

That's reassuring to hear, Flimfly. Thanks for sharing your experience thus far! I've been looking for any posts by Remington grads in order to find out if there is any truth to reviews I read which state Remington CON will not authorize students to sit for the NCLEX without first passing HESI beforehand with a score of at least 900. I ask during my interview if this is accurate; In the meantime, it would be great to hear from any recent/new RCON grads on this. Anyone?

WAITLISTED ALSO. Bummed out, feel rejected, and of course thinking of reasons... maybe being quite a bit older than the great majority of (if not all) applicants I saw at the interview?? I am also waitlisted at UCF. Drexel accepted me, "so there" (as Paco said, lol). BEST WISHES TO ALL OF YOU!!!

Startingoveragain, Remington will not be making acceptance decisions until after the April application deadline, they told me. Or, do you mean TEAS scores of current Remington students?

UCF Accelerated BSN 2011-2012
UCF Waitlisted, too, afraid to be marked off if (as in "bye-bye!") if I call and ask where I am on the waitlist... Has anyone dared to ask? KEISER: You do get $150 of the $200 back if they do not accept you. After phone interview after which I asked questions, though, I truly believe those of us with Bachelor's degrees are better off just going for BSN programs! (For one thing, you are not even permitted to then begin their online RN-BSN program until after you've been working as an RN for six months! And, I've also since read on these boards that you can forget about transferring their credits into a BSN or MSN program, although I haven't confirmed that with Keiser.) I sure wish I hadn't forked over the $200 now.. ouch. :smackingf

UNF summer 2011 hopefull
I was in the 8:30 group. So glad it's behind me that I don't mind the wait so much-- just happy not to be nervously anticipating the interview anymore. I agree with all of the above opinions on the interview process, and the way the interviewers/faculty put us at ease (as did the current students who sat with us while we awaited the actual interview). SO appreciated!!!! And, although I applied to the Accelerated program, there are distinct advantages to being in the two-year program (as one of our current students was selected for the latter, loved it and is graduating soon), mainly the less-intense pace... I got a very strong positive "vibe" about the program in general while there this morning; You know how you just sense that everyone works well together? Definitely picked up on that! :yeah:

UCF Accelerated BSN 2011-2012
Hi PAco69~ I think you mentioned on another thread that you turned in your immunization form to UCF because they kept emailing you about it. Was this via your personal e-mail or one that UCF issued to you? Just concerned because I've not received e-mail from them and wonder if I slipped through the cracks. Glad to find this thread about waiting for UCF-- Like you, I have an interview coming up at UNF will be SO happy to get into either for the same $$$ reasons (out-of-state versus in-state, plus, let's face it, the weather is oh-so-much nicer for driving to clinicals...)

UNF summer 2011 hopefull
Hi all, I applied to both UCF and UNF for Summer 2011 (Accelerated only). I received my interview letter for UNF and, based on posts, can't believe I got an interview! It must have been because all of my prereqs were finished December 2010 (with final transcripts turned in before the application deadline--I know you can have courses in progress, but I'm just suggesting that it's advantageous to have them finished because it's less for them to track/follow up on). Have any of you heard from UCF? (I have not.)

Remington does participate in Stafford Loans (federal subsidized and unsubsidized) which do NOT take into account "creditworthiness"/credit score/history. www.fafsa.gov is where you can apply for these loans online. You can add other schools, too, but Remington's school code is 007586. I strongly suggest you go this route for loans and stay away from commercial (also referred to as "private") student loans, as they are relentless in pursuing you if you are ever late for a payment, etc., and do not offer the flexibility in repayment terms the Stafford offers--including deferment and forbearance options if you cannot pay once your loans go into repayment. I have already exhausted my undergraduate eligibility with my previous Bachelor's degree, so it's not an option for me. Best of luck to you! :)
