UNF BSN FALL 2016 !

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone! I just got done with all my pre-reqs and need to take my teas! Who else is applying for this term?????

If you got that score on the TEAS then you will find the hesi so easy hahahaha.

Well, I just finished bio, chemistry, and anat and phys 1 in the fall, so much of that was fresh. I used khan academy to watch videos on Chem stuff and other things that I didn't understand, like things from a/p 2. And if I came across something as a choice on a question that I didn't know, I looked it up. But really I just used the ATI manual and the one by trivium. I went a little deeper into the topics they covered though.

Thank you! When is everyone turning in their application? And I believe we send it through email, am I right??

I did last week. Yes, through email along with TEAS scoring profile.

Hello! I am hoping to apply for the fall term. I only found out a couple of weeks ago that we are moving back to Jax in March. My husband is being stationed there (he's a Marine!), and it's our hometown! I am finally able to attend nursing school after being a SAHM for the last 5 years. I am applying to both BSN programs. Accelerated and regular. I do have a couple of questions, as I'm still learning all about it. What happens if you don't take a prerequisite by the application due date? I know it has to be done by your cohort start date but how does it affect your chances of getting in? Also, I have a couple of B's in prerequisites. Should I retake those classes? Do people get it in with a 3.6-3.7 prerequisite GPA? My cum GPA is around a 3.9. I haven't taken TEAS yet. Also, anyone have an empty application they can email me? I am going through the admissions process now to get re-admitted to UNF. (I attended classes there back in 2007.) My email address is [email protected]. I'd love to see it! Thanks!

Hi! I highly recommend you do our So You Wanna Be A Nurse workshop (free) offered through the school! It gives you so much information about the requirements. I believe that you will be OK to apply, but you need to make sure your core science classes are finished before you apply. I can't remember which ones. The average GPA is usually between a 3.6 - 3.8 depending on the cohort. Cummulative GPA isn't that big of a deal, except that you have the minimum. The Prereq GPA, TEAS score and Interview are what gets you into this school - so work on those. The application can be downloaded online for free. Won't cost you a thing. I also recommend you request an e-Packet from the Student Nurses' Association who has a lot of awesome materials for those attempting to get into UNF School of Nursing. Best of luck!!!

Hello! Where can I request an e-packet? And where can I sign up for the workshop? Thank you for all the helpful information :)

Go to the school of nursing website for UNF! UNF - Brooks: School of Nursing - homepage :)

I was looking to apply to FSCJ but just went to UNF for the so you wanna be a nurse workshop yesterday. I'm so glad I did. I had a lot of people telling me my chances of getting in were slim to none, how discouraging!! The seminar was wonderful and it was amazing to see students who seemed to really care about others as well as the faculty. I hope I can get in and be part of the family lol :D

is the deadline to send in TEAS scores the same as the application deadline?

Also does anyone know pricing for testing as well as study materials? I have the Hesi guide right now for fscj

So happy you enjoyed it!!! I wish I could have been there yesterday but I had clinical. Good to hear it was just as inviting as the past workshops. We love our school and each other and our faculty. I'm happy that came across genuinely, yesterday. Your TEAS scores need to be in by the deadline. If you are applying for Fall, 2016 - that would be May 1st.

The Student Nurses' Association provides TEAS Study materials free of charge in our Borrow Library. The application for that is online UNF Student Nurses' Association > PreNursing > Teas Borrow Library. We just ask that you have already applied to the school and are registered on the ATI TEAS website before you ask to borrow it - that way we can track our books :)

Best of luck!!! You can do it!

Hi everyone! I saw this forum and wanted to talk with other people who are applying for this term! I just emailed my application to Beth. I am currently at FSU and I would love to move back to Jax (my hometown). I graduate in a month with a degree in Exercise Science. I decided I wanted to go to nursing school, and I loved the atmosphere at UNF when I went to their "So You Wanna be a Nurse?" info session. I took the TEAS in January, but I am going to retake it to try to increase my score a little. I hope more people join this forum so we can all chat a bit during the application process :)

Hi guys!!! I applied for the summer but got waitlisted so if I don't get called off I will be retesting for the TEAS (the person in charge of admissions recommended that I do) and I'll be reapplying for the fall!
