2012 UNF Accelerated BSN Hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

Hey Everyone-

I haven't seen a thread for the UNF 2012 Accelerated BSN yet so i figured I would create one. The previous classes seemed like they got a lot out of sharing with one another so hopeful we can do the same. Feel free to share any information you have, where you are in the application process or just any woes or worries. Let try to help each other along in this stressful process.

Later and good-luck,

Eric

no I was 8:30, I only saw two other guys. just out of curiosity how many guys did you see in the 1030?

Specializes in None yet ;-).

My rough estimate would be about 7 males. The room was definitely dominated by females! And in my interview room, it was just me and 6 ladies... :-)

Was anyone at the 9:30 group 2? I thought the interview was more relaxing than expected.

I was in group 3 at 9:30. I agree that the college did everything they could to relax the applicants. On the whole though, I thought the applicants in my group still seemed quite tense. I'm going to keep checking my application status on my wings just in case it updates there first.

I was in group 3 at 11:30, my experience sounds pretty similar to you guys. I thought our group seemed fairly calm, tho I was afraid I didn't really get a chance to voice Why I want to be a nurse... Did any of you guys feel that way? I think that is a pretty important question. Anyway, I'm really really excited that we don't have long to wait! Good luck everyone :)

I keep checking my status as well. Has anyone's changed?

roemerr, are you Maria's mother? I'm her lab partner at FSCJ. She mentioned you would be interviewing as well. Good luck! I hope you get in. My interview was at 11:30 (group 6). I don't think I did too well.

Yes, I am Maria's mom. What a small world. I hope we all get in. I'm really worried about how I interviewed as well. It was hard to tell what the panel thought. At least we will all know soon.

Well I have to say your daughter is brilliant! If it weren't for her, our entire table would be lost. If she is any indication, you definitely got in. As for the interview, I was trying to be calm and relaxed, but I don't think that's how I was portraying myself. I think I was concentrating too much on my next response. I had to have dropped the "veteran" bomb a dozen times, though. Hopefully they take that into consideration.

Thank you for your very kind words.

I didn't see anyone at the interview that appeared to be an older, non-traditional student like myself. Did anyone see anyone that looked over 35?

It was hard to tell, but I think everyone in my group had a bachelors degree already, so they were at least in their mid 20s. I did see one lady that was in her 40s or 50s. I wouldn't worry about it too much, though. I'm pretty sure they can't discriminate based on age.

There was one woman in my group who I thought was in her 50s. I have been checking MyWings, no update yet tho ;)
