UNC-CH MSN 2018 Cycle

Published

To my knowledge, there is no thread yet for all of us UNC MSN 2018 matriculation hopefuls! I am currently finalizing my application for the RN-MSN program, specifically FNP. That personal statement was a monster to write, but I think I'm finally happy with it.

I know I'm super early to be applying, but there's got to be other people out there who are like me and super eager to get their apps in. How is it going for all you peeps?!

When did you receive your email, nctoca? I am sorry to hear about UNC but Vanderbilt will look snazzy on your resume for sure. They are both ranked at #14. :-)

I got an email this morning with a decision update. It was sent around 7:30am PST. Thanks for the encouragement, I'm excited finally know what next year will look like :)

That is the worst part, not knowing what to plan for. And I was checking already at 7:30! ;-)

Good luck!

Personally I am ready for any outcome! Of course I want to get in, but I think I've come to peace with the fact that sometimes rejection happens and yes it sucks, but it's fuel to do better. I'm still maintaining an optimistic side, with a touch of realism if you will. :p

At my age, I am not ready for rejection! I wish UNC matriculated more than once a year. Duke matriculates twice annually; that makes much more sense to me! I

applaud your perspective, detrelibre.

Don't be fooled though - I've been a mess for this past week, waiting to hear something, ANYTHING. It took a few days of being a useless depressed log to gain this perspective lol. I applaud you for having two kids and continuing to pursue your goals. I don't have kids but I hear it takes a lot of energy/money/effort to raise them hahaha.

I just came home to check my mail and nothing today í ½í¸±í ½í¸±í ½í¸±

have you guys checked your application? you have to actually open and then a decision is posted. the status didn't change from "submitted" for me.

Mine still says Submitted, but no other news when I open it. Guess it's more waiting for me!

Update: I was able to get in touch with staff at SON who notified me that my letter was put in the mail yesterday morning and that I should expect it by the end of this week.

It's probably the same case for you, amanda9822!

Ugh. I keep thinking maybe today will be the day! I live 20 minutes from Chapel Hill so theoretically I should get it in the mail today. I'm in the same boat as you detrelibre, I just want to know either way! I have made peace with the possibility of a no, but I just want to know!
