UNC-CH MSN 2018 Cycle

To my knowledge, there is no thread yet for all of us UNC MSN 2018 matriculation hopefuls! I am currently finalizing my application for the RN-MSN program, specifically FNP. That personal statement was a monster to write, but I think I'm finally happy with it.

I know I'm super early to be applying, but there's got to be other people out there who are like me and super eager to get their apps in. How is it going for all you peeps?!

I totally know how you feel, GoodyThree. The wait is killing me too!

I haven't heard yet from email or snail mail. They really said all letters have already been mailed? I called about a week ago and they said letters would be mailed April 23d. Disappointing that some have heard by email. I hope that doesn't mean bad news for me!

I just called again because I'm a neurotic freak and she said all letters have gone out, and it's likely that you will get an actual letter in the mail before an email. She said the grad school is working on the emails so you can also see it online, but we should get the letter in the mail this week or early next week. I'll be so relieved to find out, either way!!

Thanks for calling amanda9822. It's kind of comforting to know. Reading threads from last year I learned that some folks did get acceptances after everyone else. One user wrote about how he got an acceptance letter in the mail before his online status ever changed, so there is hope!

I did not get an email but my status had changed. I got flat out rejected! guess i'm moving to Virginia for UVA! good luck everyone!

I got an email and I also got rejected! Hard to face rejection, but I will be going to Vanderbilt for FNP in the fall. Good luck to everyone else! Don't lose hope. But even if you don't get in, I'm sure you are a wonderful nurse and everything will work out in the end.

...to kh315, I mean. That is wonderful! I put all my eggs in one basket which was risky but I have two kids and can't relocate. Duke's tuition rate scares me so I stuck to only UNC this year. I suppose there is next year but I feel like anything can happen in another year. Life has shown it can throw a wallop or two (some good; some bad) and I finally had a window of time this year.
