To my knowledge, there is no thread yet for all of us UNC MSN 2018 matriculation hopefuls! I am currently finalizing my application for the RN-MSN program, specifically FNP. That personal statement was a monster to write, but I think I'm finally happy with it.
I know I'm super early to be applying, but there's got to be other people out there who are like me and super eager to get their apps in. How is it going for all you peeps?!
Well not really. I am in the RN to MSN program (FNP) full time which is 3 years. I have completed my first fall and spring semesters and today I started the summer semester. I have 2 more years to complete the MSN (class of 2020) but i just recently decided to go for the PhD which will be 3 more years. So I have 5 more years total to finish everything. Yikes!! I know time pass by quickly...fingers cross!!
So let's say you were accepted for rn-msn program but you can later change your pathway to dnp or phd? You don't have to apply again to do msn-dnp or msn-phd?
Does the same thing apply for bsn-msn? Like after you start the program, you can later decide to do PhD or DNP?
Would appreciate your answer! Thank you!
Hi, hope all of you have been doing well and staying cool this summer. I called the SON today just to feel out the situation with waitlisted applicants. The staff member stayed tight-lipped on the matter and only said what I already know, which is waitlisted applicants can be taken out of the waitlist as late as one week before classes start in August. She wouldn't say whether any students had come out of the waitlist yet, and I was admittedly too shy to ask.
I emailed the director of graduate admissions around the end of June, and she pretty much dashed my hopes and dreams by just telling me when next year's application opened up. Seems like the class is full and they aren't expecting much movement. I can always wish for something different, but that seems to be the reality of it.

So, don't lose your hope. Being in the waitlist still put you in the run for admission. Anything can happen and anything is possible! Good luck to you all!
Thanks for sharing! So you'll be done soon. Wow, wish I was in your shoes. ;-)
